Momma Moose looks like she is wintering well! Of course, she is all poofed up against the snow and cold but that only accounts for a little of the well-fed appearance. There's no denying she is a full figure girl!

It's been a hard winter for the animals. This cow moose is slogging through deep snow, and she has to dig with her foot to get at her food. (Her calf is somewhere nearby having a nap.)

Poor thing. We have the opposite here. It's been very hot and the birds are suffering. We have to be sure to leave plenty of water for them and the possums and lizaards etc.

Thank you. This winter has been dreary and long for all of us here, but especially for the wildlife. Still, it looks like this cow moose is staying healthy and she's taking good care of her calf. She has all my admiration!

It hasnt been much of a winter here, I am in Jersey. It appears
not to bother that cow moose at all the way she is walking. That
is great that she is taking care of her calf. I love hearing things
like that.

Some of my neighbors have been here more than twenty-five years and they say this is the worst winter they've seen. But, yes, this moose is doing okay. It is miraculous to me that animals can last through the winters here... and especially this one. Fingers crossed!
