The „royal villa“ castle Gentle court in the Super Bavarian municipality of Ettal in southern Bavaria is a castle of the Bavarian king Ludwig II.
It was established in several sections from 1869 to 1886. The small castle originated instead of the so-called king's small house of his father Max II which was transferred in 1873 on a place approx. 200 m to the west of the today's castle.

Castle Gentle court is the smallest one of three castles Ludwigs II. and the only one which was still completed at his lifetimes. Gentle court is valid as the favorite castle of the so-called fairy tale king in whom he stayed with big distance most often. The castle and the gardens are accessible to visitor.

Die „Königliche Villa“ Schloss Linderhof in der oberbayerischen Gemeinde Ettal im südlichen Bayern ist ein Schloss des bayrischen Königs Ludwig II.
Es wurde in mehreren Bauabschnitten von 1869 bis 1886 errichtet. Das kleine Schloss entstand anstelle des so genannten Königshäuschens seines Vaters Max II., das 1873 auf einen Platz ca. 200 m westlich des heutigen Schlosses übertragen wurde.

Schloss Linderhof ist das kleinste der drei Schlösser Ludwigs II. und das einzige, das noch zu seinen Lebzeiten vollendet wurde. Linderhof gilt als das Lieblingsschloss des so genannten Märchenkönigs, in dem er sich mit großem Abstand am häufigsten aufhielt. Das Schloss und die Gartenanlagen sind für Besucher zugänglich.
