I think it's in good hands... at least the game is. It's being made by a company made from ex-"Naughty Dog" employees (aka people who worked on the "Crash Bandicoot" and "Jak" series).Β
As for the cartoon, well that coin is still up in the air.

Hmmm..... that actually makes me a little wary.... weren't the later "Jack" and "Crash Bandicoot" games a little... I dunno.... like they killed the innocence the characters might have possessed in the beginning? Like the might go Β all "Shadow the Hedghog" with it by adding guns and needless cursing? (Or at least, isn't that kinda what happened Β with "Jack"?) Β Β

Well, Jak (and yes that's spelt right) 2 was advertised as that and Jak 2 & 3 are gritty but they still hold a certain charm. While the areas are dark and gritty and Jak has gained anger problems, the game doesn't feel that much different from the original game, just with a few added features.
As for Crash... before it was taken away by another company, it never changed... I think. >.> (Never played)
Besides, Shadow the Hedgehog was a (rather racist) attempt to market to Americans.

And Jak went Dark, it still had the fun charm to it. Shadow the Hedgehog was just stupid, tedious, and poorly made (not Sonic 06 levels but close).
Nope just like how "Sonic Unleashed" is trying to appeal to fans of "God of War", "Shadow the Hedgehog" was made to appeal to fans of "Halo", "Call of Duty", "Ratchet and Clank", and other Shooters like those. Sega is trying to do what any game company does. Make. Money. How do they do that? Experiment. Appeal to the common denominator. It may suck but Sega has learned that the fans want more Sonic games like "Sonic Colors" and the "Day Stages" in "Sonic Unleashed". While Sonic went through a rough patch, Sega know nows better. "Every thunderstorm ends with a rainbow" or something like that.

Again, "Dark" and "Stupid" is a fine line. If you try to add "edge" but overdo it is easily becomes stupid/pointless/tedious and lets not forget cheesy. As for being poorly made, well, I blame that on the game being so quickly rushed to get out the door. (at least for Sonic '06)
I get that they're trying to make money and that they were experimenting to do so, I buy that, but I'm still not sure about your specific "audiences" there. But then again, I've never played "God of War", "Halo", "Call of Duty" or "Ratchet and Clank" so Β I Β guess I Β wouldn't see the supposed influence.

Considering it also the team the made "Jak and Daxter" and "Crash Bandicoot" so they CAN do light games. (Speaking of how a game can be Dark and Cheese "Where's that DAMN forth Chaos Emerald?!" XD)
Here's a short summary of gameplay, "God of War": 3rd Person Beat 'em Up that primarily uses Quick time events to beat enemies, "Halo"/Call of Duty": First Person Shorters, "Ratchet & Clank": 3rd Person Shorter/Beat 'Em Up.

Many a good company has turned sour in the past. It can happen to anyone.
Still don't entirely see it, but that is because of the Sonic games you listed, Unleashed is the only one I have played so you may as well drop it. I just don't know enough about both sides to be able to fully understand your point.

Isn't that the "Dark Age of Sonic" as a whole?

Hey, Unleashed wasn't that bad.... at least, not the version I played. (Wii with Game Cube controller) Though I did hear the controls were kinda notorious in some of the versions for the "better counsels". And you also said that at least '06 had some good music, and for as much as I dislike pretty much everything about the "Shadow the Hedgehog" game (GAME, his character as a whole I can deal with) I'll admit that I do kinda like "I Am".

And many consider Unleashed to be the end of the Dark Age. Great but still with some Dark Age annoyances.
(I personally prefer "All Hail Shadow" but to each there own! XD)

I was talking about "Shadow the Hedgehog" specifically, though. Wasnt "All Hail Shadow" his '06 image song, which would fall into the "Music was the only thing it had going for it" category?

I thought it was in both... wasn't it? O.o

You're right, it is in both... I guess I just got thrown for a second because I'm fairly certain the version I have on my iPod is the '06 version (if they altered it at all between the two) or... I got it from some remastered "True Blue Best of Sonic" album and it's labeled as '06.... I can't remember anymore, it's just been steadily on there for so long without needing to change it for a "full version" or higher quality, etc.
