Description You know apart from the age gap Β and Tommen being just a kid, this could be one the healthiest relationship on the show...I say "could" because Margaery seems to be faking it....poor boy...

I love Tommen's innocence and I'm pretty sure he won't be king for too long...but please don't kill him...not in a very brutal way at least,,,oh well can't really hope too much.

How old is tommen? My sister says he's 18, but wasn't he a toddler when Joffrey was getting married...how did he age so fast?

Well book Tommen is supposed to be younger than Bran and older than Rickon...show Tommen was aged up a lot like most of the characters...I think it's because the whole Margaery flirting would have been awkward and I'm excluding the bedding here...
to be fair it still looked awkward because he is still younger than her me thinks....even show the ageing so fast part is kind of an error
Pedophilia is okay with Westeros standards....XD

I think Margaery will actually fall for Tommen since he is the first man to show any interest in her since Renly was in love with her brother and Joffery was an evil prick and he clearly likes her. I think this marriage will be adorable even if Tommen will die soon, and maybe Margaery will mourn for him.

Yeah...you might be right...she'll probably grow to like him in a genuine way....And yeah the marriage is still the cutest on the show...as of now...

*sigh* I'd hate to see Margaery suffer over Tommen ;<

Yep besides Tommen wants to be a good husband to Margaery even if it was duty. And now Margaery will have a husband who wabts to give hr attention.

Yeah, but at least she will have a husband to mourn for,

First things first, let's see if the wedding goes off without someone dying either during or as a direct result of the ceremony.Β  Still considering all the screwed up couples on that show they might just make the healthiest and sanest royal match the Seven Kingdoms has seen in centuries.Β  In any case there is no denying that compared to husband #2 Margaery is definitely trading up

Haha I don't want to spoil anything but we'll get to see their wedding in the next episode....though it's really quick...
and yeah by far it's the best match....
Renly and Joffrey were kind of equally bad to me...I mean the first was nice but couldn't have ever loved her for obvious reasons...it just hurts....nobody would ever want that kind of marriage, while Joffrey might have liked her he was still....well...himself which is ENOUGH to despise...

In my view it's hard to argue that Margaery didn't trade down when it came to Joffrey.Β  I mean yes Renly was gay (and fucking her brother) which made conceiving an heir difficult but he at least wasn't evil and abusive.Β  Joffrey was asexual and only seemed to get excited when the subject turned to torture, extreme violence, and murder which would not only make sealing the alliance difficult but incredibly dangerous...not to mention the risk that even the slightest misstep and everything could blow up in Margaery's face.Β  Renly may have been a loveless marriage but it at least was nowhere near as dangerous.

You do have a point with the destructive relationship. OK Renly was between the two of them best...and the best still being far from what's right

What's with Westeros and lousy arranged marriages? XD 90 percent are damn horrible.

Westeros is heavily based upon Medieval Europe which was a VERY shitty place and time to live in generally.Β  Marriage was all about forging political alliances, women were by and large viewed as property (non first born sons generally were only slightly more prized), and children were widely a means to their parents' ends.Β  About the only things that would be odd about this marriage really would be that Margaery is at this point twice-widowed and that the wife is significantly older than the husband (usually it was the other way around).Β

Out of the three this just might be Margaery's least awkward marriage yet.Β  Her first husband was not only gay but fucking her brother.Β  Her second husband was a dangerous psychopath who only seemed to get excited when the subject involved torture and murder.Β  Compared to that even a sizable age-gap just probably doesn't even register at this point.Β

As for Tommen, well considering just what kind of marriages people in Westeros find themselves trapped in he could certainly have done worse.Β  If he somehow keeps the crown for any real length of time I suspect it will have to do largely with Margaery, she seems to basically be a younger version of Olenna but the country is in deep shit at the moment which I think would have stretched even Tywin and Tyrion to their limits.Β  And of course there's still Cersei to contend with.

It really tells you something about how cynical the series is when this might just be one of the closest things to a normal, healthy relationship.
