Description This is,

A bead sprite of Dragon Warrior 1 or Dragon Quest 1, version 2 (for the Super NES system) green dragon. Enix (back in the day it was just plain "Enix" instead of "Square-Enix...") remade the original NES version of the game. It was ported to the SNES with improved graphics & sound.

The improvement is quite noticable when you compare it to the sprite from the original game,
or from my re-creation of the original sprite done in perler beads! [link]

I used both hama beads & perler beads. Some of the beads used are "Army Green" (Difficult to distinguish from black but I used it for the darkest shade of green,) and clear brown by hama. It would have been difficult to pin the colors down with just plain perler beads. That's why it took me so long to get around to this version.

I love it! Dragon Warrior was my ideal time-waster when I was younger, and I still love it. I'd buy one of these for sure!

Alright, you have done the 16bit dragon warrior dragon. yay...

...and I feel your pain with the hama army green... I used it on my Black magic shop from Final Fantasy I and it looks too much like black, even in person...

YAY! In DQM: Joker (the one that just game out recently), they have a green dragon that looks exactly like that one. I tried scouting it, but have yet to succeed. T.T

That game is SICK by the way. You should definitely pick it up.

Is there any difference between perler and hama? I can get hama cheaper off ebay but I wasn't sure if they'd work with my perler pegboards.

There is no need to fear, hama & perler beads get along just fine together. I only use perler pegboards.

There is a slight size difference. There's like a 1 or 2 milimeter (mm) differerence in size. In practice, the difference is small enough to be negligible.

Yaay, Dragon Quest!
Cool, how do the beads stay together?

They are melted together.

Are they melted in an oven?

Not at all. You put them on a pegboard, and then when you have the design finished, place a piece of silicone paper (baking materials aisle @ the store) over it, then run an iron over it. The iron melts the beads together.

You're probably thinking of polymer clay.
