I used a basic chocolate cake recipe (box mix would work just follow directions on the box), then added mini semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips (toss them in flour first so they don't sink to the bottom), fill cupcake liners about 2/3 full and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until toothpick comes out with no raw batter on it. Β I got about 24 cupcakes.

For the frosting, cream the following in a mixer until smooth:
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Then add the following:
1 lb 10x confectioners sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon meringue powder
pinch of salt

Mix together about 2 minutes until smooth, then make a cup of instant hot chocolate and add 2 tablespoons to the frosting. Mix on medium until fluffy. You can add more hot chocolate if the frosting is too stiff. I used a Wilton 2M tip for the swirls. Sprinkle finished cupcake with cinnamon and mini marshmallows.

Enjoy and thanks for lookingΒ

no the type of sugar is "10 x" meaning it's already been sifted 10 times

You're welcome, and I forgot that instead of the 1 cup of shortening I usually do, I substituted that with only a 1/2 cup shortening and a stick of butter (room temp) - sorry!
