Shamelessly plugging my sona butt & space kids into the Hollowknight universe cause it is hecking fuN IMAGINING M GOOBS IN DIFFERENT SETTINGS AND I'VE BEEN GETTING NECK-DEEP INTO THIS GAME AGAIN

I'll have to delve into the lil dream-related powers I've been thinking about giving my sona a later point when I do their proper ref sheet, bUT, because of that thought train I thought it'd be really cute having my Hollowknight sona able to do stuff related to dreams!The Knight would encounter them in a hidden space of Greenpath rather late game, where they'd be cultivating a lot of magical flowers that seem to attract wandering dreamer spirits that haven't been able to leave Hollownest. The Knight'd be able to pay the Dreamcatcher in collected essence to 'summon' back dream characters new and old they've encountered on the journey so far, and can go on little quests to unlock new interactions & lore, as well as a special charm related to the dreams you've helped.

The Torchbeetle would be the first quest available which would be mandatory to accessing the others. When he and the Starfly supposedly 'appeared' in this world alongside the Dreamcatcher, they'd gotten separated from one another. So the Knight has to find where the Starfly is hiding in order to bring her back to him. Doesn't help that the Starfly is s t r a n g e l y mortified of other bugs- despite seeming to be a bug herself The charm you'd be granted access to after completing this first quest would allow you to 'summon' a dream spirit of your choice (out of the pool of ones you've done quests for) to grant certain buffs n' abilities. It'd be a 1-notch charm but could be really powerful depending on what dreamers you'd managed to unlock, giving some fun late-game customization. Also completing all dream quests maybe nets you a cape costume like what the Dreamcatcher has on.

My lil 4th-wall lore for the Dreamcatcher and both spacebug babies is basically like: The dreamcatcher had "appeared" in Hollownest in the same abstract vein that I just picked up the game and played it. Kito n' Goro came along for the ride but got distorted/separated from one another in the form of wandering dreamfolk. The Knight helps the Dreamcatcher bring em back together while they focus on finding and tending to the other wandering souls in Hollownest (cause I really liked finding all the dream characters and interacting with em as I spotted em throughout the world). Then once the Knight brings em together again they persist in Dreamcatcher's garden until the Knight's quest is complete. aka I finish playing the game, afterwhich they all head back home to where they originally came from This has been an excessive lore dump cause I've been thinking about it a lot and its been fun thiNKING OVER
