Cain has a past in pokemon rehabilitation, living on a ranch that took in injured pokemon to heal and release. He has experience working with wild and sometimes dangerous pokemon, having a calming and soothing aura around him that aids him. He is a very kind and gentle man but is also stronger than he appears for his size, easily able to hold a pokemon to prevent it from injuring itself if he needs to.

He is a strong and passionate man who puts his whole heart into protecting others both human and pokemon. He is front-line defence against dangers to the main camp, called forward the moment danger strikes.

Cain also acts as disaster recovery, this means he will go out in extreme weather such as storms to ensure that everyone is safe. He will work throughout the storm and after to make sure no wild pokemon are in danger.

Cain is overly friendly with new people, he wears his heart on his sleeve and is often burned because of it. He is protective of near anyone regardless of what they might have done to him in the past. His impulsive nature often causes conflict with his willingness to aid others, he will often dive headfirst into a situation without thinking about the dangers that might befall himself. He will easily put his own safety on the line if it meant someone else had a chance to be safe.
He is very passionate about Pokemon and their safety, he cannot easily handle the prospect that he might not be able to save everything. When in dire situations Cain often gets quite easily depressed and will isolate himself away from people.
Cain is too easily trusting and was scarred as a result of it. The experience changed him and while he will still happily greet strangers, he will not follow them if asked. He is a stubborn man and will stand his ground if he needs to.

- Although so many around him are gifted with beautiful music, Cain can't learn how to strum to save his life. He has no sense of rhythm and often panics easily when he feels he's not going to be able to hold the beat...which causes him to lose the beat. Despite this, his musical talents lay in singing. He enjoys singing and will happily serenade people with songs he remembers.

History:
Cain lived his life as a single child, to a single mother. His father left him at a young age after a rather aggressive incident. Cain mostly lived on his own due to his mother working away from home and long hours. He never resented this and instead looked up to her. She worked as law enforcement, often stationed in Hammerlocke but often had to leave on longer missions. She would return with injured pokemon she had rescued from various rings and smuggles.

Cain would look after these pokemon, some small, some large. He gained experience in Pokemon Handling, their care with basic medical treatments along with natures and abilities. He has a wide range of self-taught remedies and skills to aid him. As he took on more pokemon, the family land soon became a ranch of sorts. Cain would take in pokemon people found or overflow of wild mons from Pokecentres that needed rehabilitation. He wouldn't turn a case down regardless of how much work he had to put in. This often resulted in him spending hours a day gaining trust with pokemon so he could care for them better. His whole life was dedicated to this work

As their name spread and the work-load grew, Cain's mother took the decision to employ others. Cain accepted the help and taught the new arrivals as best he could. Eventually, the work became less and less for the man, he started to feel bored in his home now that he had free time. It was then he decided that he needed to travel.

Cain started on his journey at the age of 22, picking his starter as a small mischievous Charmander, he named him Nova. His scales were slightly golden, brighter than that of the usual species but Cain didn't think anything of it, he loved the pokemon entirely.

Cain had little experience outside of his home life, assuming the world around him was as friendly and trustworthy as his village. His journey started to go awry very early on as Cain was quite easily deceived by a group of Pokemon hunters who expressed they could heal his Charmander after a small scrap it had with wild pokemon. Cain eagerly took the help, as a new trainer he worried over a few small scuffs on his precious child and he had no reason not to trust those offering aid.

As his Charmander was stolen from him, Cain stupidly fought back. He tried his best but was easily overpowered by the larger men with pokemon on their side. He was knocked out with a swift hit. Cain woke in the cargo bay of a boat, alone and panicked. He gathered his courage and started to explore the boat he was stuck on. It was dark but he could hear the calls of pokemon around him in various crates. By the time he found a window, he realized he was already out at sea. He was far away from home, away from his partner pokemon and had no idea what to do. He was terrified. When Hunters returned below to check on their cargo, Cain made himself scarce, hiding away in the dark where he was unnoticed. They had bigger things on their mind than where a little kid had gone so he was easily forgotten. He checked every crate but found no sign of his Charmander and even when he tried to open a crate, he was unable. He knew he had to at least try to get home if he could, maybe he could report this operation.

When the boat docked and the cargo bay opened, Cain waited and took his chance to sneak out though he realized he was in the middle of nowhere. He couldn't just waddle out into the wilderness on his own with no idea where he was. Instead, he snuck onto the next boat and continued his life in the shadows of the cargo. He always checked every box in hopes of finding his partner but was at a loss. This continued for quite some time, or at least until he was caught out and found by a taller man with cold features.

Cain took the man's aid and took grunts on the ship head-on. He refused to go down without a fight and stood his ground. His athletic form and high pain tolerance allowed him to take and give hits with ease. He caught attention of higher-ups and was quickly apprehended. Cain showed enough 'promise' to be offered a job aboard the ship though his stubborn lawful nature caused him to end in a scuffle. He left the one-on-one on the ground with a bite on his arm. Having refused the job, he was considered a loose end that needed to be tied off. He was thrown from the boat by the one person he trusted.

Cain was weak from his weeks of scavenging aboard the boats, the fighting only brought him lower. The storm raging when he was thrown caused the waves to be far too strong for him to withstand. He passed out shortly after sinking below the surface. When he regained consciousness, he was Nozama's shore. He rested against the sand through the night until he was found by a gentle elderly woman who took him in to mend his wounds. He lived with the woman for some time, or at least until he could easily talk to other people once again. He was rather jumpy during this time, easily scared and refused to eat most things.

Cain gained trauma from his experiences, he is frequented by nightmares that startle him awake. He is unable to go into any body of water without panicking, He freezes entirely and becomes unable to process anything but his fear. Being grabbed by the shoulder or wrist causes him to jump, he has become better in recent times with this reaction but it still makes him uncomfortable.

Despite everything, Cain remained friendly towards new people. He is cautious and on guard, but he is friendly. He was determined to not let what happened to him, happen to others. He became protective and swore to keep people and pokemon safer, to do better. He wouldn't let any pokemon or people be taken against their will from this island.
