This is the last photo of LNER A4 class no.60009 (union of South African) just before she retired

Sadly this beautiful a4 is now retired and will never steam again due to the owner doesn’t have enough money to overhaul it. She have been a big celebrity at the elr including the mainline touring the uk. I believe she’s heading to a museum in Scotland on static display

This a4 was built in June 1937, withdrawn on 1st June 1966 but a month later it was saved for preservation.

Back in the day this locomotive was originally named no.4488 (osprey) but been renamed afterwards

This locomotive supposed to be running for the steam gala but it had a problem so they put her on display
