is something dreaming of what is above itthis is a seven hour piece. Setup, makeup, cleanup and edit.
It is one photo and only one, this isn't not bits and pieces. I shot with with the "stars" using Christmas lights and edited the wires out. a black cloth mixes into the colored ones making a "sunset" The boat is a metal sculpture that I tied to a long wooden bored and then flipped over so it was hanging upside down. the "ice" is what the boat is connected to, I used the stamp tool to continue it across the photo and cover up the wooden bored and the bottom of the tank. The ocean is a fish tank full of water and a pink cloth, and my head too. I used my remote to shoot it as usual.

this is a good example of the "brainstorm-concept-execution" style of studio photo that i love. most of the time, studio stuff is only shot that way because it makes editing easy, but the way you did it here, it actually made the concept possible, with enough effort.

wow. i didn't really get it 'til i read the explanation cause i'm one of those people who focuses on all the little details before she gets the big picture. like those pics of designs that say that if you stare at them right and long enough and hard enough they make another picture? yeah, i don't get those.
i love the colors in this, and your creativity astounds. you look like a primitive sea goddess, forgotten by men as they turn to their ships, the sign of their own ingenuity.

I am part mermaid, well starling actually but I dream about being a mermaid! so silly isnt it? a starling in a human skin dreaming of being a mermaid with her wings twitching as she sleeps, haha yep, i'm a silly one
