People can ship whoever they want. I happen to be a Merlin/Arthur shipper, and I've done Merlin/Arthur fan art, so calling it 'gross' is kind of offensive to me (and no doubt other people). Fair enough if you don't ship it, but other people do, so don't go hatin'. It's the same in any fandom, for example, the Gossip Girl fandom where people ship Chuck/Nate or Nate/Dan. They might not be gay, but there is definitely chemistry between the characters, and it's how individual people interpret that chemistry. I happen to think that Merlin and Arthur are really sweet, and have so much more chemistry (gay or not, although they do have some very gay moments) than Arthur and Gwen, which in my opinion, feels quite forced and awkward at times. /rant over.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine.

I'm not saying you aren't, but saying you don't have a problem with gays, but then calling it 'gross' does actually sound a bit homophobic. It might not have been intentional, but I'm just saying that's how it comes across.

One of my best friends is gay. I do admit that some of the Arthur/Merlin art is very well done, but the thought of Arthur and Merlin together is what I don't like. It has nothing to do with their gender. I said it was gross because in my mind, it doesn't make sense for them to have a relationship like that. Even if I were homophobic, I would have the right to state that I thought Arthur/Merlin slash art was gross. If people can create slash art or say they do like the Arthur/Merlin pairing, and yet tell "homophobic" people that what they say about their art "offends" them, that too is a bit hypocritical, don't you think? It doesn't matter that you were "just saying." It is art. It will be criticized due to the techniques used, the color schemes used, the size, the layout, and even the subject matter.

Exactly, yes! It's good to be open minded about it all (: by the way, I think you've done a really good job on the picture (:
