This is the first 3 MYST-related Linking Book Lockets, suitable for collecting *AND* as a functional jewerly/keepsake. They are brass, hinged pendants, measuring 5/8 x 3/4 inches and opens up to insert two mini photos. I will be sculpting, creating and painting various Linking Book covers in micro-detail. Many will be hand-painted and embellished. If I had the tools, means, and eyesight, the details would be much greater. It was impossible for me to do the Releeshahn lettering on that particular linking book. I was able to somewhat do the Tohmana lettering on that book. The Myst Linking Book turned out the best, due to the simpler type style. My estimated starting price for each one with a chain will be $20. I have them listed on Ebay and in my ETSY shop here...

Right now, I'm straining my eyes and trying to keep a steady hand with single hair paint brushes, straight pins, acrylic paint and ultra-fine point marking pens on the lockets themselves. Fortunately, not every person is going to be looking at the locket with a magnifying glass or they would see how little detail there actually is up close. I was unable to do the Releeshahn lettering at all and just have sort a of blurry impression of the Age name on the cover. Tohmana was a tiny bit easier. Myst was the easiest because I found an old typewriter and took the letter arms for stamping the letters onto the book cover.
I've got a list of potential locket book covers that include the Riven book and many others.
Tony from Cyan sent me some reference skins from the MYST game and is searching for more of the textures for me as time allows. Good times.

Re: textures, Ron Hayters awesome program Riveal can extract textures from Uru and Myst V so you may be able to get something with that. Hopefully Tony can get you some awesome reference soon too.

I could probably, at least, give the impression that there is writing there with a few well-placed dots of ink? On another note, color-matching the book covers has been kinda fun. I've been having to make micro-stipple sponges and inventing new colors that I'll be keeping in little bottles for future use. Good times for this mute artist!!
