Shorah!!Here is a finished, 3-D, Myst Linking Book from the game Myst: End of Ages, using my hand-sculpted, latex-cast cover over a small book.
It is, officially, the first full-size linking book reproduction that will go on my special Myst book shelf. I should really do the shelf *before* I make the books, though. But I've always been the kind of guy to put the cart before the horse!! lol
It measures approximately 8" x 10" x 1".

I sculpted the cover in oil clay, made a plaster mold, cast the cover in liquid latex
No real process other than trial and error with sculpting, casting, and layers of acrylic paint

Is this the way the book's title looks in the game?
If you have a screenshot of the In-game book without the leather cover and straps, I'd like that, cause I'm making my own Myst V Myst Book. However, I haven't gotten the real chance to play it yet. (Paradoxical, eh? XD)

Just don't make the images have spoiler locations behind the book. BTW, what is the image on the 200-year-old Myst Book's Linking Panel? The Dock, or the Library Ceiling, or neither?

I'd love to see even more artists and sculptors do Myst-inspired works. Maybe that will, in turn, lead to Garden Ages and Reltos popping up everywhere! Yeesha would be delighted(But not "proud"). LOL

That would be truly awesome and also, maybe all that stuff would make more people interested in Myst and therefore Cyan decideds to take up MOUL again and make new ages

I'd have to admit, creating Ages on the computer is certainly a lot less expensive than in the 3-D world!!
Unless you consider the time/money connection. LOL
I hope that I'll be able to get back onto MOUL again some day. I did have fun collecting the sparkies, exploring some new Ages and finding new Relto Pages.

Oh yes, you are very right! And I wont stop dreaming, it's one of those things that are so second nature to me that I do about everything all day lol. And there is always hope for things to work out and CYAN making more ages is one big hope I'll keep alive!!

Other than the Relto Book, I haven't had the opportunity to work on any other Myst/Riven/URU books...yet.
I do plan on making a cover for the Releeshaan Book next.
Then, I'll be starting to make more for a Relto Hut book shelf.
Hadn't considered making a Riven prison book. I can just imagine a picture of Gehn sitting at a table playing solitaire inside the book. LOL Great idea! Thanks!!

No gold edges. No paper, either! Just a bit of premature, Age aging of styrofoam coated with tinted latex rubber and textured to look like book pages.

Little things do mean a lot right now. At least I have to means to do these smaller projects.
The bigger backyard Garden Age project will move a lot faster when the economy shapes up. The alien technology is probably just waiting in the wings. Like when velcro was "invented'! lol

Yes. I plan to have a Relto Cabin in my live Garden Age. I'll be able to keep the Linking Books in there along with a Wardrobe for exploring the Ages. Just a matter of time a funding.

I've been an artist ever since I could pick up a crayon and start drawing on the walls of my childhood home, rather than trying to eat it. lol
So, yeah, I'd say that it's taken a while to become the artist that I am today. I've been doing the Myst stuff for about 6 years.
Kadish Tolesa book, eh? Hmmmmmmmm....Funny, it's on my list of major linking books to make! *wink*
