Description This is a female West African Green Mamba that belongs of an acquaintance of mine. Though not as aggressive, and much more arboreal, than the more-notorious Black Mamba, the Greens are still very venomous and potentially dangerous snakes. They do have a lovely color and a neat, and somewhat odd, scale pattern, though.

Magnificent reptile, I can see why you would have it as a pet

She isn't mine; she belongs to an acquaintaince of mine that I sometimes buy snakes and spiders from. She's most definately NOT a pet, though-one bite contains enough venom to kill about 15 healthy adult humans! These guys are closely related to, and have similar venom to, your Browns and Taipans. Like those, Mambas are Elapids, members of the Cobra family, and are VERY fast. This is a look-but-don't-touch animal.

Nope, I wasn't THAT daring, LOL! I have held, albeit not "free-handled", various venomous snakes, including some Cobras, but they are slow compared to Mambas!

Egyptian, yes, as well as Suphan and albino Monocle. The Egyptian was a Banded phase, very pretty with gun-metal blue wide bands against a tan background, and very fat.
