Description FULL INSTALLATION PACKAGE, INCLUDING WALLPAPER, ICONS, BLACKBOX BUILD, PLUGINS and 3DCC CONFIGURATION.
Wallpaper and icons on both the wharf and the plugins are by danillooc [link] one of the legendary skinners/themers/artists, used with his permission. The wall is Sektor, the icons are 3FX and some of the skins he crafted for various applications, like beatnik, windowblinds, rainlendar etc. I tweaked the wallpaper and the icons a bit. I replaced all third party apps with bbinterface and Blackbox plugins, so there is no need for you to use any other application. Just load Blackbox.exe as described below and enjoy. Right clicking or Ctrl+Right clicking on most plugins will bring up a menu that will guide you through their configuration procedure. For the Wallpaper Setter, for instance, you need to right click on it and go to Picture/Browse to open the folder that contains YOUR wallpapers. After that, using left and right buttons on the plugin you can browse through walls and using the middle (stop) button you can set one as background. Or, use the SSHOW button for a slide show of all wallpapers.
The wharf contains 5 full drawers for System, Web, Graphics, DVD and Music applications. Edit bbinterface.rc file to add applications or, again, use Ctrl+Right button to bring up the menus.
Due to silly DA restrictions that prohibit uploading of executable files, I had to use another skinning/artistic site, [link] for uploading the full package. You will find the link in the zip file submitted here.
All you have to do is unzip Blackbox NeOS Reviaited.zip under C:\ and either double click on Blackbox.exe or (recommended for a full Blackbox environment) use a shell switcher like ShellOn and enjoy.
Please remember that this theme is for resolutions of 1920X1080 or higher. For lower resolutions, please e-mail or note me.
Anyone who wishes to try Blackbox for the first time, please e-mail me for instructions.
If you want to learn more about Blackbox, I suggest you read my tutorials:
[link] tutorial part I - the shell
[link] tutorial part II - the plugins
[link] tutorial part III - the styles
They are pretty much outdated by now (I MUST find time to bring them up to date... lol) but they will give you a general idea.
And, of course, feel free to ask if you need more info or instructions

I love most of your work and use some of the Styles, but the reason I went to bbLean was simplicity and not the bloat of explorer! Most of your themes using bb are just too busy! If I wanted something like that, I would go to something like DesktopX or Aston! The one thing I like about bb is its simplicity! Just like my other computer runs Solaris with only BlackBox as the window manager. But, like I said, I like your styles and colors, so I guess what I'm saying is keep up the good work!!

Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Sorry for my late reply, but I was away till now. As for my themes, you don't have to load the plugins I am using, my friend. Just use the style. That's one of the good things about BB: it can get as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. And, please, come and join us on www.blackbox4windows.com it'll be our pleasure!

This is a great looking style, right up my alley, but I do have a question before I try it out...can I disable the individual plugins that need an internet connection? I have an offline machine that I'd love to apply this style to but I don't want a bunch of broken icons on the desktop.

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but I've never used blackbox before!

Sorry for my late reply, but I was away till now. There are no plugins that NEED an Internet connection. You can rest assured there will not be any broken icons. Please feel free to ask anything you need about Blackbox. And thanks for yiur kind words!

Mind blowing! I like everything but the menu title has more power without the text IMHO.
The system info bar on the left is a real jewel.

I don't know where you get your inspiration... but

I really love this theme. Makes me wish I could get BB working properly on my Win7 laptop. Guess my other option is to see if I can emulate it on my linux desktop.

pitkon In reply to MatrixM [2012-09-29 16:21:54 +0000 UTC]

Thanks so much! You mean you tried installing it as shell and failed?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MatrixM In reply to pitkon [2012-10-06 02:04:55 +0000 UTC]

It's been a few months since I last tried, but I'm pretty sure I was able to get it installed but then ran into an issue where as soon as I opened a program or rebooted then Windows (or at least explorer) took back over as the default shell and all I was left with was the coloring scheme and background image from my blackbox theme.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

pitkon In reply to MatrixM [2012-10-08 09:33:57 +0000 UTC]

Then you didn't install it as shell - that's why explorer took over on next reboot. Want me to help you do it right?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MatrixM In reply to pitkon [2012-10-10 23:56:56 +0000 UTC]

I just tried out bbLean again (according to timestamps last time I tried was back in February), and it appears that the issues I was experiencing are no longer present (or it was a major case of pebcak, most likely haha). Got NeOS downloaded and working on integrating it into my setup. Thanks for such a great theme that inspired me to give this another shot.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

pitkon In reply to MatrixM [2012-10-11 07:34:05 +0000 UTC]

Thank YOU, my friend, for the kind words. I take it you don't use BBLean but the Blackbox build that comes with my theme package, right?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MatrixM In reply to pitkon [2012-10-11 13:58:34 +0000 UTC]

I tried to use the blackbox build that came with the theme but got insertion point errors in many of the plugins, also the fonts didn't look quite right on my tiny laptop screen compared to your screenshots (probably don't have those font choices installed). So, I've got the basic bbLean installed and as I learn my way around it's style development ins and outs I'm going to integrate pieces of your theme into it. Just like (re)building an engine, going to have parts that don't fit back in afterwards, and going to run into situations where things just don't look/feel/work right until they are tuned properly. Once I get it complete (which knowing me could take months), I'll send you a screenshot so you can compare it to yours to see how it stacks up.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

pitkon In reply to MatrixM [2012-10-11 15:22:08 +0000 UTC]

Insertion point errors? You DID use the plugins that came with the theme, right? BBLean is fine, but outdated. You'll be missing a lot of things like split graphics, horizontal graphics, outline text, menu grip etc. etc. What OS are you using?

Thanks, Pat! Fact is, I did a theme on this 7 years ago. Then, YourNumberOneFun used the wall for his desktop and I realized how much I had loved this, so I decided to revamp the whole theme using many new elements... Glad you like it!
