I love most of your work and use some of the Styles, but the reason I went to bbLean was simplicity and not the bloat of explorer! Most of your themes using bb are just too busy! If I wanted something like that, I would go to something like DesktopX or Aston! The one thing I like about bb is its simplicity! Just like my other computer runs Solaris with only BlackBox as the window manager. But, like I said, I like your styles and colors, so I guess what I'm saying is keep up the good work!!

Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Sorry for my late reply, but I was away till now. As for my themes, you don't have to load the plugins I am using, my friend. Just use the style. That's one of the good things about BB: it can get as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. And, please, come and join us on www.blackbox4windows.com it'll be our pleasure!

This is a great looking style, right up my alley, but I do have a question before I try it out...can I disable the individual plugins that need an internet connection? I have an offline machine that I'd love to apply this style to but I don't want a bunch of broken icons on the desktop.
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but I've never used blackbox before!

I really love this theme. Makes me wish I could get BB working properly on my Win7 laptop. Guess my other option is to see if I can emulate it on my linux desktop.

Thanks so much! You mean you tried installing it as shell and failed?

It's been a few months since I last tried, but I'm pretty sure I was able to get it installed but then ran into an issue where as soon as I opened a program or rebooted then Windows (or at least explorer) took back over as the default shell and all I was left with was the coloring scheme and background image from my blackbox theme.

Then you didn't install it as shell - that's why explorer took over on next reboot. Want me to help you do it right?

I just tried out bbLean again (according to timestamps last time I tried was back in February), and it appears that the issues I was experiencing are no longer present (or it was a major case of pebcak, most likely haha). Got NeOS downloaded and working on integrating it into my setup. Thanks for such a great theme that inspired me to give this another shot.

Thank YOU, my friend, for the kind words. I take it you don't use BBLean but the Blackbox build that comes with my theme package, right?

I tried to use the blackbox build that came with the theme but got insertion point errors in many of the plugins, also the fonts didn't look quite right on my tiny laptop screen compared to your screenshots (probably don't have those font choices installed). So, I've got the basic bbLean installed and as I learn my way around it's style development ins and outs I'm going to integrate pieces of your theme into it. Just like (re)building an engine, going to have parts that don't fit back in afterwards, and going to run into situations where things just don't look/feel/work right until they are tuned properly. Once I get it complete (which knowing me could take months), I'll send you a screenshot so you can compare it to yours to see how it stacks up.

Insertion point errors? You DID use the plugins that came with the theme, right? BBLean is fine, but outdated. You'll be missing a lot of things like split graphics, horizontal graphics, outline text, menu grip etc. etc. What OS are you using?
