Description After some months of preparation and with the permission of respective programmers/artists, I released my new sidebar which includes the latest build of BBLean, my favorite Blackbox clone, the fullest sidebar I’ve submitted so far, including completely independent and free-floating elements (so it’s actually more of a set of widgets than an actual sidebar), plugins, wall, icons, and other goodies.
Specifically, this package contains:
1) BBLean 1.16 with the permission of its creator, grischka [link]
2) Six plugins – bbkeys, bbleanbar, bbleanskin, bbinterface with the permission of their creator/developer, grishka [link]
3) Three plugins – bbmuse, bbspectrum, bboscilliscope created by Kaloth [link] and included under the GNU General Public License.
4) One plugin – broamrelay, included under the GNU General Public License.
5) NeOS wall by danilloOc [link] [link] with the artist’s permission.
6) A set of 3FX icons by danilloOc [link] [link] with the artist’s permission.
7) My sidebar which includes a Wharf Bar to launch applications with, a Media Center including an audio player (Blackamp II) and an audio Mixer, a Control Panel to change styles and walls with, and an independent sidebar/bbinterface.rc setter which may come handy to people who like to change their bbi elements.
8) The style file that goes with the wallpaper.
9) A help file, necessary to guide you through the installation/usage procedure.
I would also like to thank SerVI [link] for pinpointing a typo that kept the sidebar setter from working.
As usual, there will be questions and some problems, since I can’t guarantee that the plugins will work flawlessly in all setups. I will try to work them out if you leave a message under the journal at [link] or if you note me, or if you e-mail me (pitkon@mland.gr).

The wharf was created by me using bbinterface, a Blackbox for Windows plugin. Are you familiar with it?

I think yes, but I never noticed it's possible to make buttons (app starter icons) pop out. - I just know how to make static buttons

You can download any of my themes featuring a wharf. In the zip file you will find bbinterface, the plugin, bbinterface.rc, the file needed to load the wharf, and the icons. Please follow instructions. You can learn all you need about bbi ctrl+right clicking on any element to bring up the menus. And, of course, don't hesitate to ask if you need any kinda help

I checked absolutely everywhere for them, pitkon... They just aren't in the main zip file, or in the included zips either.

For an email addy, feel free to use junebleedsATgmailDOTcom. Thanks again for sending them over. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply, pitkon. I almost think we're not on the same page here. The images I was talking about are the ones that appear to the left and right of the "SET" button on the Style Setter panel (for instance). I didn't mean the actual screenshots for the styles that load when you click left or right. Here's a screenshot to better show you what I mean (forgive me if the link doesn't post correctly this time around):

[link]

If I'm mistaken, I apologize. I guess what confused me was the media player panel included all the necessary winamp buttons (play, stop, pause, previous and next). Thanks again for all your work on this!

Note: They just aren't missing from the panel... they're not in the zip pack at all... and my style/wall setter is empty because I'm still trying to get everything configured before I add all sorts of other things to it.

Sorry, my mistake, I thought u were talking about the screenies - that bmp part threw me off... Lol... They r not in the zip? Strange, I thought I had them there - no one else complained before... OK, gimme an e-mail addy and I will send them right over. Thanx again for ur kind words!

Sorry to bother you pitkon, but I just discovered bblean and your fantastic sidebar here. One small problem I'm running into, though. The previous and next images for the Style/Wall/Sidebar setter panels seem to be missing from the download. I believe they're left10.bmp and right10.bmp. This might be a silly request, but is there any chance on updating the package to include those images? Thanks for this great sidebar!

Hi, and thanx for the kind words. The images for style/wall etc should be provided by u, not me. I mean it's no use if I provide images that exist in my pc only. Please read the documentation about how u can add your own images. If u need any more help, feel free to e-mail me

I am totally new to Blackbox, i've only been using it for a couple days now and i stumbled across this. I really like what You have done, I just can't seem to find the wharf, i have the media center, style setter and sidebar setter on screen and thats it. I read all the read me's but can't seem to figure it out. Also, for bboscilliscope and bbspectrum it says to edit the plugin rc files; whenever i do this after i try to add the plugins an error message comes up saying "Error registering window class" and then another saying "the plugin failed to initialize", when i go back to the plugin rc file the edits i made were gone. Ive never done any programming so this is all new to me. Any help would be much appriciated.

Thanx for ur kind words! First of all, I guess u use a rez of 1024X768 or lower. That's why the wharf doesn't show. It's off the screen. Try a higher rez. About the "failed to initialize" plugins: go to [link] and download the latest builds of the plugins. Try again and if the problem remains, pls e-mail me pitkon@altecnet.gr Thanx again!

net-pegasus In reply to pitkon [2006-01-07 01:10:00 +0000 UTC]

I dont exactly remember what I did. I know I screwed up but appearently ive been able undo what I did. Basically my wallpaper disappeared and was grey and could ot be replaced, the start enu disappeared and when I clicked on it and moved the mouse up then the menu items would begin to appear as i rolled over them. A graphic mess.

I've just recently got BlackBox and have not been able to figure out how to intall things so that my desktop looks like your screenshot.
I'd say dont worry about it, things seem to be back to normal.

I don't know if u read them already, but my tuts is a good place to start:
[link] tutorial part I - the shell
[link] tutorial part II - the plugins
[link] tutorial part III - the styles
To create a desktop like mine u will need the following plugins: systembarex, multiamp, bbstyle, bbbin, bbsysmon, bbicons, bbtray, bbanalog, bbpager, and bbcolorex. U must have already bbinterface, bbmuse, bbspectrum, and bboscilliscope. After u get them, pls e-mail me for further instructions: pitkon@altecnet.gr

Will u please be more specific? Bsetroot is a wallpaper-setting app, it usually doesn't do anything else. My guess is, something else went wront. Tell me exactly what happened. U mentioned an installation?
