Description Okay, so this isn't really an art... but I thought some of you guys might enjoy it nevertheless. It's some of my favorite quotes from Dragon Age: Origins.

Hopefully no spoilers...

I recognized some of these. I love the hilarious lines out of this game. Haven't got the Pirate Zev yet

Yes that's true but so are some of the PCs...of course I still haven't got the "lamp-post in winter" line yet from Alistair.

OMG you'll be having fun for some time to come then! I'm jealous of you in that way, I have done almost everything there is to do so there is not much left to discover... but I tell you this, it was worth the cost of the game a dozen times over! Have fun!

Oh I will...I haven't finished a playthrough yet because I'm scared of the Broodmother. My first character will forever be caught fighting her. I don't think I have the arsenal to defeat...Marvolo you always hold a special place in my heart.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-02 19:35:44 +0000 UTC]

Well, you can turn around and come back later... or cheat... broodmother is almost at the end of those damned deep roads. You're almost there! If you don't want to cheat, you can always try different party combos... but if you don't mind cheating... you can use the god mode. Cone of cold (or whatever that's called) is awesome, (not a cheat).

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-03 02:06:54 +0000 UTC]

Well I'm playing it on console though. But my mage I'm playing does have cone of cold and blizzard so I might try that...and some fire spells. I don't if I'd ever want it for PC though I kind of like it on console. I'm so obsessed with the game it's ridiculous...and with Zevran. My male elf mage was in a relationship with Morrigan but I dumped her for Zev...he just calls to me. Darn you Zev!!! Well actually my male elf mage had Morrigan, Zevran, and Leliana after him at the same time. Made for odd and quite mean party conversations.

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-03 06:43:25 +0000 UTC]

Are you playing on easy mode?

Ah Zevran... I'm more of an Alistair lover myself, but I had had had to replay just for him. Well, I've replayed several times actually, but once just for him. Yep. Although I had to kind of look at it a certain way... from the perspective that he is done with his promiscuous past and will settle down since he is in love. Perhaps not true, but otherwise there is no appeal. Then again, he did propose, albeit in a very informal way...

But the Alistair romance was more in depth, I'd say, since he is more involved in the main quest.

Morrigan was fun too, for my neutral/good male human noble...

Okay this is getting really long... tends to happen when I talk about DAO, lol.

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-04 05:33:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I'm playing on easy mode. I'm not one of those gamers who feels they have to beat it on the hardest setting to be a true gamer.

I do like Alistair too but there is something about Zevran that I love. Perhaps it's his lines. Of course Alistair has some funny lines too.

Its ok. I don't mind the long conversations. It's good to find someone to talk about the game with. By the way which part did you hate the most...I think for me (since I haven't finished playing the game) is the Fade, especially with a stupid mage who kept dying half the time. Good thing I save like a maniac.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-04 06:34:41 +0000 UTC]

You mean, "Lost in Dreams"? Yeah... I died a lot in there as well, in the mage's asunder part, or whatever it's called. There was this one room especially, where they just bombed me to death with fireballs!!! But I found out it's really easy if you just morph into burning man (immune to fire). On the whole, though, I liked it because of the fonts... I always go there first so I am pimped out for the rest of the game... muah ha ha!

I know what you mean about those hard core gamers. As if gaming in any context is really a show of coolness. It's stupid that they get so competitive about it like that. Grr, I stop now, it's making me mad! >

Amen! None of my friends/family will let me talk about games long before getting bored/changing the subject. Sigh, to be the only gamer...

Other than the party members available, who do you like?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-04 15:51:58 +0000 UTC]

Really I avoid it till later. I've been doing "Nature of the Beast" first the past few times. But yes I do like the burning man because of the fireballs and the golem form, not so much the spirit form really.

You mean like NPCs...hmmm. Bann Teagan is kind of awesome and for some reason Jowan (I want to open up the Blood Mage specialization but I don't feel like having Wynne wanting to kill me honestly). And Sagna (or is it Sanga) at the Pearl makes me laugh. I guess I'm just not into many of the NPCs, I know I don't really like Isolde - almost sacrificed her the first time but I ended not doing so. I liked Daveth some too, then he died and some of the characters out of the different origin stories were awesome too.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-04 17:15:38 +0000 UTC]

Spirit form is good for the bosses, if you use crushing prison right away, then regenerate on yourself, then switch forms to attack.

About blood mage, you can always do it evil and unlock it and not save it, then load the game and do it nice. That's what I did. Same with reaver, though that takes a lot of time because you have to redo some stuff...

I think they were going to make Isolde evil originally but changed plans. That blacksmith hinted at it, and I found this concept art that made it look like she was guilty of something... But yeah, she sucks.

Yep, I like those guys too. I wish someone could make a Jowan in the party mod.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-05 01:19:13 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm I never thought of doing that. Does it work on console? It should.

Sometimes I wish I had sacrificed Isolde but I didn't want to hear about it later from Alistair.

Jowan would be an awesome party member...What else is there to talk about the game?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-05 22:46:13 +0000 UTC]

Somehow, when I sacrificed Isolde, is didn't register with Alistair or something and he was happy about how it turned out... Connor and Eamon lived though. I was just waiting to get bitched out and it never happened.

Jowan would indeed. They just announced the first party member from Awakening, who is an apostate... maybe to bank on the Jowan fans? Maybe indeed.

Do you usually play good/evil?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-05 23:11:09 +0000 UTC]

I already pre-ordered Awakening...I can't wait.

I usually play good. I'm just morally upright , it's hard not to be for some reason when I play the game.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-06 01:35:00 +0000 UTC]

I would totally pre-order, but then I'd have to wait 2-3 days for it in the mail which would kill me. lol. Or download instantly, but I like having a hard copy just in case something happens, like my internet fails half way through the download or somethng.

Yes, me as well. It hurts to be evil... I get too emotionally involved. I wish that in games, there was a third route, an evil character that isn't psychotic. Where they are evil in a more realistic way. Like Emperor Palpatine, no one knows he's evil for a long time.

Did you ever say what your Dragon Age character was? I can't remember.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-06 17:23:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh I pre-ordered it at a game store so I don't have to wait for it to ship out. I also pre-ordered the guide that goes with it.

Sometimes being evil is fun but not overly so. I'm just a goody-two shoes at heart so my characters reflect that.

Well the one I'm playing now...he's an elven mage named Fawkes (because I'm a huge Harry Potter dork - he even has bright red hair) and he's at Lvl 14 I believe.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-07 17:32:58 +0000 UTC]

Oh, weren't you so sad when Fawkes left after Dumbledore died? I cried. Lol. I was hoping he'd stay with Harry.

I know what you mean about the goody two shoes thing... lol

For elven mages, is there much difference in playthrough than with human mages, do you know?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-07 19:58:59 +0000 UTC]

Yes I was...I thought he would stay at the school, you know with Snape (since he wasn't a bad guy like I kept telling my friend who disagreed) but I guess not. They did it beautifully in the film though.

You know Fawkes is my first and maybe only mage so I don't know the difference. You do get different starting attributes I know that. Like the initial magic attribute is higher for an elf that it is for a human, it's little things like that. Other than that I don't think so.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-09 02:55:39 +0000 UTC]

I love Snape. Don't really know why, but I do.

Huh. I guess I won't make one then... not for a long time at least. I am trying to get a PC ready for the expansion, since my original one, (the one that is basically myself if I were the PC) had to be deleted... I got soo annoyed because her portrait wasn't... congruent... with the other NPCs... her head looked too small and she was set too far to the left... plus, Alistair dumped her and then he died... now that I know what happens, I can take steps to get that happy ending... sort of.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-09 05:06:39 +0000 UTC]

You really should try the mage. I was like you and then I tried it and its awesome. Especially some of the spells you can use on your enemies. Like setting them on fire with a fireball!

Oh yeah and there is an apostate for DA Awakening, Anders. Guys frickin' hilarious in the video they have for him on the official website. Have you seen it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-10 00:20:53 +0000 UTC]

Yep! My first one was a mage, and after that, I was thinking I'd never play anything else, it was too fun! So now I am playing a mage again! Yay! She's a human though. I like the idea of mage/templar falling in love... although I did want to be the queen in the expansion... I wonder if Alistair will be there if he's not king? I hope so. Otherwise I'll be mad. >

Yeah! I saw that! I'm so excited! *excited dance* Oooh... what might happen!?!? I am reading The Calling now and I have some ideas... things are going to get crazy fast.

Aaah... I am now in love with Duncan, but not because of the book.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-10 02:22:05 +0000 UTC]

The Calling? What's that?

But you can only be queen if you're a human noble unfortuneately. But I believe Alastair is in the expansion for sure.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-10 03:54:52 +0000 UTC]

The Calling is a dragon age book, along with The Stolen Throne.

Yeah... that's why it was so hard to decide if I should be a mage or a noble... I started out with noble but switched to mage, but I might switch back... I'm so torn!

But as an NPC? Or what?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paradisekisses In reply to Pittlers [2010-02-10 04:05:46 +0000 UTC]

Where do you find the book? In the game? I'm confused.

I don't know. I just know he's in game. As he's a Grey Warden I would think he'd be a NPC.

Pittlers In reply to paradisekisses [2010-02-10 04:41:58 +0000 UTC]

No, they are real books! They are by David Gaider, and I got mine on amazon. The first is about Maric and Loghain fighting the Orlesians, and the second is about Maric and Duncan and some darkspawns... I'm not very far into that one. They are good.
