While it was a pity that we couldn't get Captain Picard to provide the voice, it was still an entertaining episode, along with the rest of the founders (especially Somnambula, Egyptian Pony for the win.) Funny how Twilight's perception of Star Swirl became muddled with the reality of him not being entirely the great wizard she hero-worshiped. Fortunately, we can all learn from mistakes and turn out better for them. You've got a great rendition of Star Swirl in his element, being the powerful wizard, with some unseen foe. Assuming this event takes place in the ancient times, centuries later, we would see this:Β Β

Β To this day.Β The 'original': LOTR trilogy still retains its title, as the greatest arcane fantasy trilogy, ever made.Β In my humble opinion.Β Then Mr. Jackson had to pull a '180' and give the world,Β what may possibly be, the most utterly superfluous arcane fantasy 'prequel' trilogy, ever made.Β So self serving and self exploited, that it wasn't even funny.Β In my humble opinion, it may have been the most profligate waste of '$750 000 000', in film history.Β
Β In hindsight, I find it rather ironic, that Mr. Jackson ended up sharing the same 'fate' as good ol' 'Georgie' boy.Β Just as Georgie's 'prequel' trilogy, is generally regarded, as being 'inferior' to its predecessor, so to is 'Jackie' boys 'prequel' trilogy; contemporaneously regarded as such.Β History has a way of repeating itself, in a seemingly interminable cycle.
