Thank you! I think I'm finally getting my head around colours... As weird as that sounds! It's fun picking unexpected ones, and avoiding completely desaturated colours. I didn't believe my art teacher in high school when she told me not to use black for shading... now I understand. It took me too long.

Awesome! Great contrast to the usual cartoon look I've seen this iteration of PixelMech have. An exercise in colouring/shading? It looks very impressive, though one the down side it does affect the 'clarity' of the image, if that makes sense.

Thank you! It started off as a doodle, I actually did do lineart for it and shaded it with that... then I hid the line layer and liked it, so I worked on it from there. The proportions of this one are a little bit less "chibi" than the cartoony version, the arms are a bit more megaman too, haha.
I was experimenting with different shading techniques and trying to get a unified colour scheme. I see what you mean about clarity, I could go in and bring out some details. The head isn't very square, it wouldn't hurt to sharpen it up a bit. I kind of like the rough painted look!
