Description A Digital Tutors and Darrell Abney Creative Development tutorial on making a sea creature. I tried to take it further and textured him and made a beauty render. This time I also picked up some tips from José Alves da Silva for the rendering process from an issue of 3DWorld Mag.

ZBrush and Photoshop.

i like the concept, but for a sea creature it lacks one major feature... a hydrodynamic body... as a shape you've accomplished that, but then you added to much details, its like he doesn't have skin... to understand what i'm talking about, take a look at dolphins, sharks, sea lions, sea leopards and so on, they have a sleek body... i guess you could make a scaled body, to keep the level of detail while giving it hydrodynamic body, but that wouldn't be correct from the point of view of evolution, i mean sharks are the state of the art in fish evolution, and they have smooth skin instead of a scaled skin...

in the end, great work, and i hope this is enough of a constructive criticism!

Aw, he looks so adorable...wait what?
I guess I can't compliment you on the concept of the model itself(which is awesome) but it's really cool.
Though with those textures, he looks more like a zombie mutant than a sea creature
