Description Organic Armor costume set released as part of the Mutant-themed Super Booster. Idea was to make the costume appear as if it was alive, perhaps a biological symbiote or techno-organic entity.

Even now, I still see these pieces used a lot in-game, and that makes me feel like we succeeded.

So is there a design reason we didn't get a "with skin" version of this set? I mean, it covers the bits that would necessitate a ratings change, and it basically boils down to areas that are "skin" and "armor-y bits" anyway. The only limiting result is that we can't use the set with normal skin-tones without losing the "living symbiote" effect at the neckline.

Sadly, I'm just the concept artist, so I can't directly influence the way in which the 3D artists approach these projects.

Yeah, I understand. I was just wondering if there was a reasoning behind it, technical issues, or if it was just a kinda "Let's try not to do anything too racy" attitude.

Nothing like that. If anything, it was probably an issue of time. (It takes additional time to prepare all the additional versions of a costume).

Indeed. That's fair enough, I suppose.

I notice the tail isn't shown here. Was that something added only later in the design stages?

Jay came up with that on his own, without concept. But he had plenty of already-created textures to rely on, so it probably wasn't too hard for him.

fascinating. On that note, you can count me as among the many who made good use of them.
funny thing was, when being described as 'demonic' as well, I ended up imagining the demons in the manga Chrono Crusade.

We wanted the pieces to be as broadly useable as possible, so we went with a design that could be interpreted as alien, biological, demonic, etc.
