Hotaru's strongest points rely on his agility and speed in running, dribbling and reflex. His good eyes and reflex makes him able to read movements and thus makes him easier to steal the ball. With his speed, he's able to run to the other side of the court in the blink of an eye. However, he relies on the team more than himself, believes that basketball is a game that should be played by many and depends on the team. Has a good passing skill and always keeping an eye on his teammates and opponents, making sure that he passes the ball to the right player at the perfect time.

Relying on his speed too much will drain his energy and might slow him down. If you do keep an eye of him, you'd notice that he rarely make a shoot and would pass the ball to someone else when it comes to offense he needs someone to be there ok so make sure you're always close to him. As for his strength, he's not especially weak, but would have a hard time when faced with bigger opponent or strength-based player.

Another weakness that he never wanted to mention is, he can't play in a team that consists of newbie/weak players because they won't be able to keep up with his speed and pass.

⟡ Charismatic. Even though he's usually air-headed, but when he's serious he can be a real charismatic person. However he doesn't realize it himself because he's such a dumb.
⟡ Confident. He's confident with his words and action, sometimes he put a high expectation on something and then ended up crying in disappointment because he's a loser.
⟡ Socialite. He's very shameless in approaching people or starting a conversation, he won't even mind if you chose to ignore him cause he'll kept on talking. Quite friendly companion but might be annoying at some point.

History :
Hotaru was born in a very wealthy family, his father owned a big company and his mother worked as the secretary. He had 2 older brothers who were really smart and talented at everything, his parents were really proud of them and hoped that Hotaru could be like them one day. Ever since young, Hotaru had been studying hard like his older brothers, however the results were not as good as them, soon his parents stopped expecting much from him. He was really sad, thinking that he's no good at anything compared to his brothers. It was until one day his brothers took him to watch NBA match, and it was love at first sight with basketball.

He started to play basketball with his friends at school, until years later he joined Teiko's basketball and managed to get a spot in the main team on his first year. Seeing how strong the seniors and opponents, he got happy and excited, he began to practice a lot and play more seriously so that he will became stronger and surpass them. Everytime he found a stronger opponent, he'd practice more and more in order to beat him, and soon he's called as one of the "Generation of Miracles" with his others 5 teammates, they won any match and competition easily almost without effort. However that time, Hotaru didn't find basketball fun anymore, he felt much more happier before he became the "Generation of Miracles". All the other GoMs also build a wall around themselves, making Hotaru unable to get closer, he could only think of them as 'players on the same team' instead of 'teammates'.

After graduated from Teiko, his parents sent him to the prestigious Rakuzan High and he started his basketball life again, hoping that he could find the excitement he used to have once again.
Trivia :
⟡ Because of his weird fashion sense and lifestyle, no one actually expected him to be rich at first meeting
