Description
The sea felidae or "sea cat" is a rahi created by an unknown makuta of the water element. The origins of this creature is somewhat unknown do to its reclusiveness. It displays characteristics of a cat, but is an amphibious rahi. This rahi is rather aggressive and often hostile towards toa, matoran, and even makuta. Though there are a small group of individuals that have managed to tame these creatures and keep them as companions. Another bizarre characteristic is that these sea felidae also display characteristics of ash-bears when on land. They often stand on their sturdy hind legs and will attack with their front legs claws. Of the many rahi in existence, this is a rather mysterious one.This particular felidae belongs to the Toa Aquailia(who I'll later post) Which is why a cordax blaster is mounted on the rear of this sea cat. The blaster is intagrated into the felidae's nervous system so it is actually an extention of the creature and not merely an "addon"
This is also my entry to 's rahi building contest. I thought I was late but do to a misunderstanding in the rules and some very polite consideration I'm being allowed to enter this. Thanks BOM admins.

Thank you. I actually don't particularly care for this MOC myself. I tried doing several different things most of wich didn't work and it came out kinda a mix of the different animals I was trying to get. To me its kinda a half assed failure, but sorta a success at the same time.

Yeah I guess that's its most defining feature. Its like what you did with your fire dragon, I don't know when you built that but I do know I build my sea felidae before seeing that so when I did the thought "oh we had the same idea goin on there" poped into my head. I've had this since 07, hence all the 07 parts.

Ah, that might be why it resembles Spinax (though really it's only the head and feet...). So do you have a lot of older MOCs that are yet to be uploaded?
The cogs on the Toa Mata had potential...it started the chain of functions in the larger sets. It was enough to keep me entertained when I was 6

Maybe I did use the head. The feet was real the only viable option. Uhh no I don't really after this felidae I have the toa that goes with it, and what basically is a toa sized makuta teridax. Other than that I've got nothing. I'll be busy with reshoots though for my older stuff that I've posted. Then I wanna do some improvements to the big guys. After that I want to do something new. When you keep everything you build you don't end up with a bunch of MOCs you have a few.

Thank you. This is being more well received than I thought it would be. The whiskers are kinda like the kind you see on many chinese dragons. Or at least that was what I had in mind when putting them on. Thanks again. I have no clue how I'll do in the contest and really I'm not having any expectations, that way if it does well I'm pleasantly surprised but if it doesn't do well then I'm just glad I was able to enter it and have it noticed.

Yeah I was thinking chinese dragon when I threw those on there. I started out wanting a chinese serpent dragon, but that didn't work out so I ended up with this mutant, cat bear thing.

The things running down from it's jaw to it's torso, looked kinda like power cables to me.

Ah I see. Well I just stuck those on there cause all the 07 models hade those hoses incorporated into them and I felt they were needed on this as well.

Something like that. Now that I think about it, or think into it reins would make more sense. Cause if those were like fluid veins they're exposed and would be pretty vulnerable. So yeah I dunno they're just there.

Yeah it might be. I usually think pretty practically with my MOCs that one I just wanted those hose things cause they kinda needed to be there IMO

Yeah that is a cool color scheme. Adter the dragon Idea didn't work I thought I'd try a bear, so to make a joking reference I use blue and orange which is the color scheme of the Chicago bears(football team if you didn't know) which is also my mom's favorite Football team. So that's how I decided on the colors, but when it was all done it came oout as a mutant water cat /bear thing, which is why I'm so surprised everyone likes it, cause I don't, but that's because its kinda a failure to get what I actually was trying to do. Oh well its still pretty cool. I do like the body design, I'm just thinking the head is what throws it off.

Oh ho ho! Very clever. Yeah, even though I don't like to watch sports, the bears are one of my favorite teams, just because I like Chicago. Mostly because I have relatives there. Yeah, you probably could have said something about the whiskers. I sort of figured you were going for a whisker like thing, but yeah. It is an interesting idea.

haha yeah. THanks. My mom was from Illinois so that's why they're her fave team. For me and just about the rest of my family here we root for the san Fransisco 49ers For us cali folks its either then, the oacland raiders*coughwichsuckhorriblyandarehellaghettocough* or the san diego chargers. So people round here take the pic from those typically. Well I didn't mention whiskers cause it seemed obvious and I was right, everyone called them whiskers.
Any ways, so are you working on any new stuff right now MOC wise or just in general? What madness is cooking up in the laboratories of the HydroPhoenix? and everytime I say your username I get to thinking about hydrophoneixes and think "hmmmm one of us should make a hydrophoenix. Maybe we could try a collab? I build it you help with the creative direction? I was supposed to do a collab with but that hasn't happened yet.

Ya! Being weird is so fun. Aha, yay for knee surgery. Yeah, I see what you mean. Never fun to mess up prettyness for strength. Well, I actually removed the silver part of the pistons and replaced them with a normal piece with a + hole. That way, the mechanism can contract farther, but cannot extend too far without coming out. I want them to contract more because when he is on four legs, his hind legs are really stiff because they can't contract any further since they are limited by the length of the forelegs. Well, with longer pistons, there is also the problem of, when they contract, the extra will stick out and so you have to have a hole or something for it. Okay, so all my elite rahkshi were created by some makuta to be bigger, better, and smarter, but since they were smarter, they started questioning why they should work for him when he treated them so badly. So, he injected them with something to make them obedient, some other people injected them with stuff to counteract that stuff, and the tried to escape. Tory was shot by a dart with protodermis or something, and because of all the chemicals and the mutations he went through, this extra bit turned him into this weird chicken/ostrich sort of thing. Thus, I will post a picture of him before he turned into a chicken. But you aren't supposed to know that he does that. So FORGET IT NOWWWW. Or I will have to kill you. Jk jk. Anyway, yeah. I don't have any pictures of him because he was the last one I made and he is fairly simple. But I should still post him. Aww, I feel so honored. Lol, yeah. Pretty cool.

Exactly similar, as in the whole body design. The only difference is the head and yours has a cannon, where mine had foldable wings.
