Well! After all the fun sketching I did over the last few days, I have finally finished my horse inspired dragon! I'm so excited to finally have a dragon character. When I was a kid I designed a whole family of silver and red dragons with terrible markings and names. I wish I could find those pictures. They were terribly awesome!

Working on a bit of worldbuilding for Misha, who is an akhal-teke dragon. In Misha's world, dragons were domesticated in place of horses. All horse culture and development now belongs to dragon-kind. Horses still exist, but not in the same way as our world.
Dragon raising is a time honored tradition and are definitely symbols of status. For one, because they are so expensive to keep. They live 10 times as long as horses, and they take nearly ten years to grow to a size where they can begin light training. They can start breeding around 20, but don't stop growing until 40-50. Average lifespan is about 250-300 years, though some of the smaller and hardier breeds have individuals that are currently over 400 years and going strong.
