Description This method worked best.
You smear the black all over, then etch the drawing, with a knife or a cleaned brush.
And then you take a clean paper and paste it over the drawing and voila.

What type of ink/paint and paper are you using?

Acrylics is the most difficult because it sticks when it dries... you could try a slow dry medium or alternatively work really REALLY fast and don't rub or leave the paper too long or it sticks.
Wetting the paper with acrylics won't help in my experience, only just makes the paper easier to break down. You could try to wet your paint more?
You could also try a tube of block printing ink (preferable) or any other paint that is reactivated with water. A small tube of no brand color would only be a few bucks, I think.
With that block printing paint, you can get lots of different effects from wetting your paper, or spraying it.. or the plate, or parts of the ink in the plate after it dries!
Sorry, I get excited about this 😂
It's a wonderful first try, keep going! Even with just acrylics, just work faster lol
