The Hydra EX Class, EX denoting an experimental model, is a testbed for advanced shielding hardware. While the Frame is somewhat questionable as a combat unit, due to its low offensive power, its highly advanced shields are nigh impenetrable. Even being able to regenerate while under heavy fire. The hope is to one day apply this same level of shielding to more combat capable Frames to create the next generation of M.A.S.S. Units.
