I once told myself I would never do fan-art of Barbara Gordon... But alas I did. I blame *violet-plude ! Since I did this for her.
I changed the outfit... A LOT. I was aiming for an Oracle/Batgrl mix thing, not to sure if that come out. Meh, anyway I like how she turned out.

They really do look great in green... that, pink, and teal for some reason. I love how they dress her in purple in the animated series though. I can't help it, I'm a purple girl... though I really love green a lot too, and I like giving her a fresh new look with a new underused color for Bats!

duuuuuuude. . . i would love you forever. . . it seems that while in the beginning I wasn't all that into Jason, he's quickly clawing his way into my heart and pushing Tim and Dick to the sides which pisses them offffff. it's like eternal heart battle. The main reason that I even got into DC was Dick. I always watched Batman the Animated Series and was all, 'holy shit, why are there not 500 more Robin episodes???' I have a tape of Robin's Reckoning that is worn out I've watched it so much.
So imagine my surprise when I first started reading Robin comics (and we're talking I started at like #16 when they were coming out, so it was easy to fill in the back issues). I was all confused with Tim, wondering who the hell he was and where the fekk he came from. It didn't make any sense but I grew to love him just as much, and loved Dick and Tim together, especially in the first thing I read with them together, the Zero Hour issue where they both teamed up as young Robins. XD
Jason never really factored in my mind, everyone else had seemed to hate him, so I guessed there had to have been some good reason too, like he was just so much of a little prick he couldn't be loved at all. Gah, but the imagery played out with him in all the Nightwing comics, especially Nightwing Year One. . . gaaaaaah. I started to come around. And then especially with 'Death in The Family', the books where Tim comes in, and especially 'Under the Red Hood' movie, just seeing all the psychological trauma and how messed up he is underneath everything. . . I want to huggle him so bad, well, and hope we wouldn't rip my heart out. lol
But last night, reading Red Hood: Lost Days and Hush back to back was heartwrenchingly amazing. I've always loved Winick, his Barry Ween comics, not to mention the work he did on Outsiders. Just the fact that he's raised this character from the dead, brushed him off and made him real and loveable again just makes me baaaaw. It makes me so mad that he can't be given more DC titles, because it's obvious he's passionate about it, and he doesn't mess around.
. . . . lol. I just turned into Ranty McRanterson here. But yeah, I love all my Robins. Well, the first three. . . and sometimes Damien, but only when the little fucker is trying not to be a total asshole. XD

It's actually really sad, when they first introduced Jason he was a doll. He was friendly and didn't take on the name Robin until Dick told him and Bruce it was ok... And then the writers disregarded it.. I am sorta glad because I love Timmy but Jay DID start out being a sweetheart. It took him dying and coming back a badass for me to admit that I am in like with him.
Reading Hush and The Return of Jason Todd, started my like for him.. I'm personally still not a huge fan of Jason.. But I love the Red Hood, I find myself in paradoxes like that a lot.
Nightwing Year one did help me too, but I love Chuck Dixon... I would marry that man for his awesome writing skills.

Winick Brought Back Donna Troy, that's an awesome mark in my book, his work in the Titans was fantabulous too. It's a shame that the GOOD writers get held back while they let people like Morrison shamelessly massacre good comics. They need to brainstorm and bring in the good writers again... I haven't even seen Devin Grayson work on anything Recently!!

Yeah, since I started in the mid 90's I'm still not too sure where I have gaps and whatnot, I just know I've only heard of Jason's origin, never read it (although I've seen the many faaaaaaaaaabulous pics of Dick's first Nightwing costume). I always didn't understand why so many people had such a problem with Jason, and I think it's been sine his inception and the 'let the fans choose his fate' thing that they really just went all the way with painting this bad picture of him.
Plus, was he really a redhead originally? Cause. . .well, that doesn't really coincide with anything. But when has comic continuity ever made sense. ;.;
TALIA IS THE BIGGEST HOEBAG IN THE UNIVERSE. Why can't the DC Universe get rid of her? They've offed way better characters. I just hate that she can date rape Bruce, and then act like a mommy figure to one of his Robins only to mess him up even more by fucking him. That woman needs to be fixed, and locked away somewhere. Stupid hoebag. >_________<
My blame is that these fucking writers like Morrison and Miller have to make things darker and edgier. . . they try to make Batman more realistic because they think that's what people want to see. In a world where aliens, mutants, demons, magic, superpowers and other unexplained shit exist and they have to try to rationalize it and make it gritty and creepy. Yeah, there's a lot of messed up things in the world. But there is also a lot of things and ways to write something where you don't rely on darkness, violence and explosions to tell a story. And he best writers Winick, Dixon, Loeb, Grayson to name a few) don't. They rely on characterization and people actually thinking, not solving problems through brute force.
Yeah. . . Dami. . . such a freaking turd. But I couldn't help baaawing at that Teen Titans you sent where he went back to Gotham and he said he didn't need any friends in Titans because he had one in Gotham. :3 It made me happy. (but not like those gross people who ship Dick/Dami. . . *barf* he's 10 fer Chrissakes!)

Jason's origin story, Was all in all pretty lame. Street kid, boosted tires off the batmobile, Bam.. Bruce accepted him. That is pretty much it.

Miller and Morrison are very overrated, they are loved for their garish and gruesome writing. But all they do is tarnish good stories and characters. Loeb is really one of the best writers in the DCU and he actually hasn't been able to write for them in quite a while. DC just needs to look at the good authors, apologize to them and bring them back.
Damian has his moments where I kind of like him, not many but a few. I feel sorry for him mostly, have Talia for a mother most suck. I would cry myself to sleep every night.
