Sketch I made of my new Voltron OC, trying to come up with a bit more of her design. Turbokitten gave me the name Madeline for her, and I fell in love with the name. Also I can have her ship name be MaddMatt and this amuses me.Madeline, or Maddie to almost everyone and ‘Lin to Matt, is an expert in AI development, growth, and security. She likes experimenting and messing around with robots, and has two robotic assistants/experiments/combat drones that she built herself. Their ‘official’ names are Angelica and Benjamin, but everyone just calls them Angie and Benny or A and B. Each possess an AI with a rather distinct personality that she’s programmed into it. She also created a host of smaller robot drones that are under the direct control of her two main robots, although she can control them manually as well. The smaller drones aren’t very smart, but serve as extra hands/weapons/shield generators as needed. Maddie is also good with the two small guns she carries and prefers ranged combat. Physical combat really isn’t her strength.
Still working out some kinks with her story, but I'm having fun with it. Generic pose is generic and I put one arm behind her back just because I couldn't decide what to do with it. I was messing around with adding a vest to her design. Not sure about it yet, but it looks like this:

I think the vest is going to be too much. Either don't give her one or make it shorter so it doesn't overcrowd her design. With the long shirt/tunic (that I thought was the vest at first)'s design already so detailled, it would be too much.
If you do want to keep it, give it another color, too maybe gray or a darker shade of brown, without it being too red to be similar to the tunic. Or just make it orange, make it pop ^^
But damn, IA development? That's badass! And creating an IA not based on a real person (like IA!Alfor) is just???? so damn impressive!!

And thank you! AI just seemed like it would be such a fun concept that I couldn't help myself! I'm not sure how advanced her AIs actually are, compared to other robots, but Maddie would be the sort to make sure that people could at least tell them apart based on speech patterns.

Well, we're also not sure how advanced Earth is at the beginning of VLD, so you can try and make it very advanced, but probably not as advanced as Altean/Galra technology ^^
But yaaa, speech pattern is good, and setting a learning program in the AI so they are constantly evolving is good too!

I might try that, and make her vest part of a combat outfit or something!
Figuring out how advanced Earth is in Voltron is both a fun and frustrating part of writing fic for the series I've found. 'Not as advanced as Galra tech' still leaves a pretty wide gap. At least saying Maddie has been messing around taking apart Galra tech to figure out how it works gives me so excuses.
