Good shot, and particularly for the pose, the model is superb and I love this blur
But, I can see too much orange color on the right (on the hand and a little bit on the face)

platen In reply to eonelPhotography [2011-04-20 11:21:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I agree about the orange color, the make-up artist did it that way so I kept it (since we shot this for a magazine). Thank you

Great color and contrast! Between the color/tones of her skin, and the colors in the "props" (couch, wallpaper, baseboard) it is a brilliant photo, with excellent detail! Well done!

she looks like a plastic doll, that's disgusting
wrinkles gives charm and personality, this girl looks like nothing
or like every other photoshoped model, which is worse

Gemini-Mystica In reply to garsedj [2011-04-05 21:17:54 +0000 UTC]

I've always wondered; how do wrinkles give charm? I've never liked them in photography and I will probably combat mine when they show up in my older years. I understand wanting a bit of 'natural' concerning photographed people; but in the end it's what the photographer and/or editors wish the final product to be. :/

that's the problem, we can make what we want to see, so we do
but a lack of flaws is something artificial, impersonal, inhuman
flaws makes a character, a soul, unique, an each person became a piece of art

imagine churchil and hitchcock thin
imagine steven seagal and clint eastwood smiling
it won't really be "them"

I do not disagree that it would not be them, but you must also have observed that it really does not go the same way for women. Men age a bit better than women; often gaining characteristic rather than losing them. Concerning photography and advertisements, however, men are not shopped the exact same way women are. They keep their wrinkles often and personality with stubble etc. Their flaws can sometimes make them. As a women, I both understand the characteristics of how the advertisement world and general art of photography is: women are shopped more for 'perfection' because it has proven to sell better.

Don't get me wrong, art concerning older women/flaws/wrinkles etc is acceptable; but just not what the artist wanted to do at this time. Concerning business, the perfect imagery of women sells; as opposed to if she was overweight or had wrinkles. This world today may be sad/shallow/etc. and it is. But even as a women; I would probably cringe at a larger/wrinkled/overly-flawed women in an advertisement and wonder why they failed to chose a better looking person to represent their product. The trick of the imagery is to cause the observer to admire that the person may be naturally that way. Yes, we make what we want to see; but sales in this world prove that the shopped version is what we want to see anyway. Who knows, maybe this will change in the future; but that is just how it is at the moment.

First male I have ever seen saying anything like this.
Though I doubt she would have wrinkles, being young and all

everybody has some wrinkles, or even a skin texture :/
"that" is what magazines wants to show, not what mens wants to love

Yeah, but some people just have baby smooth skin maybe she does. But hey, what ISNT photoshopped nowadays?
