This is the image I've been working on recently with Shakken [link] - It's his design and initial sketch, go check his stuff out too.I still may tweak it a little, depending on personal interest and public comments.
It's taken me far longer than it should really have to do this, but I can just about call it done now.
Notes:
Shakken : Pencil sketch and continuos consultation.
Me : Photoshop CG
Other than the inital pencil sketch scan, this was created completely in photoshop. The resolution that I worked on this was 1800x3000 approx. I have a version of this image at that resolution so that when I'm finished (when I'm almost 100% happy with it) I may make prints of.

WOW this looks great, the shadings are amazing. The eyes and the design of the character is brilliant. You should do more of her.

Very nice. Might it be worth trying to darken it up just a touch and bring a bit more boldness to the color of the character. Also (as was mentioned before) adding a very faint background. I'm not sure what, but something to pull some of the attention away from the machine and more towards the figure.
