meh go to most any raster artist's works and you'll see shading, polished works are unattainable without it.

I know what you mean bro.
But the ability to create effects in vector format that would otherwise be made using raster elements is extremely rewarding.
It just goes to show what vector graphics is capable of and not just the minimalistic flat design you mostly see.
