once i saw that you liked Muse, i KBEW you would have drawings of Matt. I saw them when they came to the University here in Maryland in the US....i've always loved them...once of my favorite bands out there. *adds to fav*

Now this is really awesome. The shadows are perfectly done, so you can really feel him singing seeing this.
The mic looks crazy good too, the shining part of it works great.
And I think it's really nice how you combined those really detailed, smooth areas with such big strokes and huge, one colored parts (his hair / jacket).
And no, I don't see any reason to scrap this, but I guess that's up to you.

I was just using colours as seen in the reference picture, although it was so impossible to get them right, as Matt's face consisted of pinks, fleshes and greys at the same time as the background being as blood red as humanly possible.

There is something very wrong with having your level of talent and then thinking you suck... something VERY VERY wrong.. that coloring is amazing.. it is inducing an orgasm of the eyes (I swear, I feel the pre-orgasm tingle in between them...) or.. maybe I just have to sneeze.. pfft.

Yeah, seriously. When I first heard of Skullf*cking, I imagine someone drilling a hole in a person's head and proceeding to screw that. However, I have been enlightened since, but I still believe that it should involve the upper skull and not the lower. pfft.

pfft. Reference accuracy is highly overrated. What matters is what you can see at the end without seeing the reference. If they have to look at the reference to decide if it's good or bad, then .. well, it just might be more good than bad.
Example:
Billy: check out my arts, teacher!
Teacher: wow, that's some good shading, Billy!! I like it!
Billy: yeah, here's what I based it off of! *shows picture*
Teacher: OH!! That was supposed to be a Walrus!! I thought it was a pig...
dun dun dun... but see, yours was recognizable for what it was without seeing the reference picture, so... I'm going on too long about this. My point is: it's good anyway!
