Ah, yet another convert! It's almost amazing how Hetalia is an A+ study aid for both history and geography just by "fleshing out" the location, context and relationships between Nations.

For some reason after watching this anime I actually care about History class. I'm not even joking

No, I know what you mean, with Hetalia I not only did started to care but revised certain time periods extensively.
Hetalia sort of fleshes things out and gives your history classes new meaning, where all of a sudden history class isn't just a long laundry list of events you have to memorize but a tale just as complex as Game of Thrones (except your main cast doesn't die as often...justΒ the people who form their history).
By knowing where all this happened gives it an even greater weight, IMO. Β ItΒ isΒ no longer in a land far far away, it's 'Oh look, Italy and Greece are way closer neighbors than I thought!' Maps all of a sudden make sense, geography has a noticeable weight on how some events took place (Prussia hilariously enough was the first Nation to make schools dedicated to its study), and certain cultural quirks and history jokes are explained.
