Description There is a little scene i saw back in wichita falls texas. It was a cross on top of a lake. Although when i started drawing it (i dont really use photos i go off memory alone) it didnt exact grasp the quality of water i was aiming for BUT. Even though i didnt make the lake i was heading towards i decided to just leave it as a grave. And even though the backround isnt exactly hills. I decided to leave it as it turned out because i like the end product of this piece alot.

This is probably my favorite piece that i have made recently i just like the way it turned out.

Even thought this is a (rough sketch) and it is on small paper i am going to take this off as a piece in itself. So when i go to remake this peice on a larger scale (i always alter my peices from sketch to product) i will end up having 2 different pieces from same subject.

Pretty strong symbolism and pretty good lines, yes it's rough, but it's the kind of piece that looks good rough

This looks solemn and lonely. It speaks volumes and captures the real feel of such a grave site.

thanks for such compliments.

But it was supopsed to be a view with a cross above a lake. I just poorly executed it

Turned out nice though anyway.

OOOHHHHHHH, dang, but you know the next person might just see it the way intended. People's points of view can really affect interpretation of works. You just never know. But I still like the picture and think it's really well done from my own view.

Nope. I messed up how you do the shading/texture. So it will forever look like a gravesite. Which isn't a bad thing really.

True, not a bad thing. Still works.

i really like the contrasts in this pic and how you capture the dynamics of this windy scene.
well done

AHHHH i drew this so long ago. Back when i was still learning how to properly draw landscapes. The scene isn't supposed to be windy. Thats supposed to be a hill behind it with a tree in the top right corner. And a tad slight of sky inbetween.

It turned out windy and i left everything as is and didnt redraw it because i felt it still looked nice.

if you notice the grass is still in place while everything else is moving so much. It's a tad awkward. Also i shouldn't of drawn the cloth on the cross the way i did.

WELL OH WELL for the artists critique/woes and mishaps

Glad you enjoyed it btw.

i just thought it would be windy because of these cloths^^
but your reaction is normal, i think.... i react the same about my older works XD

Wow, this is very beautiful, very spiritual, and veery emotional. The starkness of the sole cross is great, it brings to mind a feeling of isolation, solitude, and pain. I love it!

Well the first thing among art is to move it's subject and to feel something from it. I feel sadness and this piece is well drawn so very nice indeed.

As ive been told by many artists. To make a piece that can strike emotion in someone else is a great thing. It was not intended for this but im glad you got what you did from my work. thanks for the comment

I think it is good, though I thought I would just offer one little piece of advice(hope you don't mind,) the bit of sky on the top right corner leads my eyes right off the page and maybe if you darkened it, it would not be so eye catching. Otherwise, I love the ambiance of the piece and thought it was wonderfully done.
