Throughout America and at the federal level, the American Civil Liberties Union is fighting to protect your privacy and liberty against governmental intrusion. For nearly a century, it has played a leading role in every victory for civil liberties before the U.S. Supreme Court. The ACLU was recently instrumental in persuading the Virginia General Assembly to put a two-year moratorium on any drone deployments in the state to give the legislature time to study the issue, including potential impacts on civil liberties. This came on the heels of another victory in Charlottesville, Virginia, where the city council passed an ordinance forbidding the use of drones for any purpose by anyone -- including corporations, government, and individuals -- within the city limits. Again, the ACLU was there. You can join and become involved here: [link]

Drones should turn into robotic transport airplanes that can be controlled, not a use for military means.

can we get this group to pass a bill saying that governments, major corperasons, and ISP's can't exacute acts or try to pas bills that would hinder the functions of the internet or spy on people using it unless there is a good reason to do so on a praticuler person backed up by a court order

Drone activity in the UK is kept very much under wraps. All we were told was that there was 'protective drone activity' during the Olympics....

Drone pilots fly with tunnel vision due to the nature of the on-board cameras. All aircraft pilots have a wider field of view and greater awareness of the airspace around them. How many power-lines or, god forbid, aircraft need to be struck in flight by a drone before the danger is realized by the public. In this time of budget cuts, do you think they have set aside funds to put a positive spin on the down side of drones and public safety?
