Problem: funding college education.

Lots of desperate people = lots of expendable bodies.

Do you know how many people I have advised NOT to enlist for the military to take and then dump off 6 months later? Everybody get's fed these grand stories by the recruiters and they don't believe me that it's a bad idea...

What does I.T. stand for in this context?

Information Technology, or working with computers and programming. Many are persuaded to join the US military as a way to receive a college education if they are unable to afford to do so otherwise. And, granted, many do receive this education, but it comes second to the military training and duties imposed on those who sign up. As the costs of education continue to rise and an increasing number of jobs that pay anything close to a living wage are requiring a Bachelor's degree at least, many are quite literally having to put their lives on the line to get an education.

Oh, okay. I thought I.T. stood for something else in this context. I am already familiar with I.T. normally meaning Information Technology, and was not aware of this.

Thank you for the clarification!

Sometimes, the only way to fix a naughty server is with fragmentation. Amirite?
