Description "Remember this wonderful night we had on 22nd April, 1877."

Probably boring (but tru) historical bg:
On this very day a Turkish delegation came to Budapest, bringing several Corvinas with them, which are basically our national treasure. King Matthias I had these priceless books in his library, but then they got scattered away. But the ones the Turks took with them, they gave back as a gift - as you can see, just before the Turko-Russian war broke out.

This was a wonderful gesture, and cause the Habsburgs were all pushy about the subject, the Hungarian-Turkish friendship was stressed even more. There were HUGE crowds and parades, everybody wanted to see the delegation from Temesvár (now in Romania, back then on the South-East border or Hungary) till, of course, Budapest. Everything was about the Turko-Hungarian friendship/relationship.

Like, our greatest novelists, Mór Jókai held an extremely laudatory speech about the Turks. No, like, today it almost seems ridiculous.
No, you don't understand, unless you're Hungarian.
Like, JÓKAI. Holding a speech like that. Man.

Seems to me Eliza supported extramarital relationships *coughcough*

*high fives back*
i guess it's all because himuraya sensei is being lazy about hungary's and turkey's relationship...i mean he's dropping lots on hints on pairing up hungary with prussia (non-existent country in reality) or austria (much more sensible at least)

This is so sweet! I love how you thin about what you draw, and there is actually a historical meaning! IT'S SO RARE THESE DAYS IN THE HETALIA FANDOM, it's all about mochis and USUKmoemoeNEKO. But you draw stuff that makes sense AND that is beautiful looking *U*

Ffffffff you're being too sweet, I don't even deserve that.
And what awful, AWFUL fangirls we are for not drawing constant MOEMOEUSUKUSFRANCENEKOMOE stuff, amirite?

Agreed with you completely. Hetalia fandom needs more historical meaning. :T Like the orignal story does...

What are the Corvinas about? And of course the Habsburgs would be butthurt pushy about it; the Turks were their enemies but Hungarians obviously didn't agree with them. XD

Well, history, science, philosophy, stuff like that: [link]

Habsburgs were being bitchy quite often in the 18th and 19th centuries, so no wonder Hungary wants to have some fun with Mr. Mask.
