I'm actually very happy with this piece (a rarity. I'm almost never satisfied with my art.) This picture went through a lot of changes...

Originally, it was going to have two horses. One grey horse, one black. The stock image that I used was perfect. The horses were exactly in the position that I wanted them in. And they were the right colors! So I cut them out, drew manes and tails, and then put them on the background. Looked good? Eh... not so much.

It just didn't look right, although I don't know what was wrong. So I took the black horse out. But I still didn\'t like it, so I re-colored the grey to a black! (First time trying a grey/white to black.) I think it turned out pretty well!

Turning the background from day to night was inspired by *Rimfy 's "1901" [link]

And yes, it's supposed to be pretty dark! xD
