haha.. unfortunately, I moved on from this project.. And I think the folds I sculpted are looking ugly looking at it now..

3ds max is great but Zbrush is AMAZING!

I used Z to create 80-90 of this project.

I use 3dsmax for creating basemesh and accessories (pockets, guns, straps and etc)..

All the wrinkles and wear and tear details are made in zbrush.

I was actualy going to model the Sta-52 LAR Helghast Rifle V2, so I can pose it w/ Cobar, but been busy w/ other stuff right now, maybe I can borrow it for the pose? promise to credit you for the rifle .

sure, my model is kinda on the non-detailed side tho'. i think it'll look outta place when right beside your Cobar model. Can the program you used import .blend files?

awesome!! it would look great posed w/ him. You've done a nice job modeling it.

If you can export it out as an OBJ file, I can open it in max and zbrush..

no hurry, take your time bro..

I use 3ds Max 9 to model, zbrush to detail, and photoshop to texture.

hi, definitely join the dom war this year if you can.. I know I'll get my ass whooped, but I'll try my best to atleast produce something dom war worthy, haha..

it should be a real learning experience, and plus we'll help each other out here and there..

you know wht I think about school? -->it's sh*t

it's expensive and it only teaches you a couple of chapters from a book, which is stupid and not worth the $42k loan I'm paying em back right now for my AA.. I mean it definitely has "some" advantages, but I seriously think it's not even worth half of what I owe.. I'm pretty sad and pissed about it.. (lol, sorry for blabbering)

$42k!!! wtf thats a lot of money tpos ganun lang ang turo?! demmet! Buy ka nlng ng gnomon tuts, mas makakatipid ka pa, yun nga lang wala kang mapapagtanungan ng mga technical things di gaya sa school.

I think 2 years ago na yung school na pinasukan ko, about 2d art. More on basic kaya parang sayang din. I learned 3d by selfstudy, internet, dvd tuts and friends. Pero sa tingin ko, iba pa rin pag sa school ka natuto.

yeah! really sucks.. but I think that's really how it is with every school, they can only teach you the basics, what bugs me is that I could've learned that by myself. But I like the traditional classes very much, life drawing in particular and clay sculpting. And plus competing with your peers could be interesting and challenging at times..

But I can honestly say I did not learn much pro skills from school, and you're right, I learned more from gnomon dvds in a couple of hours, than what I learned from school in a couple of quarters. awk!

I use standard, smooth, and the move tool.. and maybe the pinch brush for fine detailing..

real time means game version with low polycount and textures (check my gallery for examples)...

the character up there consist of 6 mil + polygons, I'm going optimize that up to maybe 10 k and retain all the details from the high res version.
