Koreal Thalanus (formerly Aradion) is a master wizard. Londreth Aradion is a member of the city guard. Piira Aradion, the middle child of Daellan and Kothas, is a genius with numbers, and will brag at any given opportunity that her math grades were better than Koreal's. Taking after her scholar father, Piira did brilliantly in school, but rather than pursue magic, Piira pursued money. She is a ruthless account manager for a wealthy businessman, with whom she may or may not have a semi-romantic relationship. While she is very smart, and easy on the eyes, Piira tends to keep most people at arm's length. She is practical, not empathetic, and shudders at the idea of being in love...and therefore making herself vulnerable to being hurt.

When Koreal was tried and exiled, Piira, who was still an adolescent, was heartbroken and angry. She had looked up to her big brother, and suddenly he was gone. She blamed Koreal for making stupid decisions and getting caught, and she blamed her parents for disowning him. She's heard that Koreal is back in town... but is torn about how she feels about his return.
