--------------------------------------------------------------------------------"My king, my friend" , a Dragon Age's fancomic.
First of all: I DIDN'T romance Alistar. Sorry fangirls, no lovely Al-stuff for you. However, Alistar IS the center of this story.
Dragon Age is an incredible BioWare's game, very praised by its romances (those wich are awesome, btw), but I discovered to my own surprise that my closest relationship wasn't love-related.
Alistar's friendship was the most meaningful relationship I had in the game. That was a whole new experience for me, and I was genuinely surprised at how much the bond between him and the Gray Warden could move me. He seems to be incredible popular as an LI too, so isn't surprising the amount of romantic and well-made fanart about him. Even so, little of that material is about friendship, so I wanted to "give it a shoot" as Alistar would say

No one, I love Alistar to bits, he's my fav character in DAO, but he is to much of a bro for me to even consider romancing him, it feels wrong when I am the one playing the game, like dating my own brother, awkweird

I know what you mean and it was a nice change-I managed to have my female Dalish not romance anyone...well-not intentionally. Leliana always falls for my characters when I'm nice to her so I had to put a stop to that.... I just couldn't see my Dalish being in love with anyone but her best friend in her origins story. ^_^ But being best friends with everyone...I could see that.

I've never played as a Dalish elf before, but already read the "spoiler" part. It's a beutiful and sad story, one of my favorites, I'm thinking in going with that origin in my next playthrough.
And I know what you mean by Leliana and her ninja!love. I like her character regardless
