The temple, his temple had fallen long, long ago. Millennia later, the ruins still stood half-forgotten. It had once been a glorious sanctuary dedicated to him. A place where they came to worship and praise his name. Today, this shrine by the sea was barely remembered, much less visited.
Still, he would come and reflect on the ancient past. He’d think of the time when he was revered and lament all that was lost. Yet he endured. Continuing his existence, though what sort of life did he really have now? He lived alone in an apartment by the sea. Drifting through this modern world, coasting along in an assumed persona to interact with people who no longer cared who Poseidon was.
He wanted more, but what exactly? Though he’d tried to leave behind who he’d been, the sea always called him back, beckoning him to embrace his true nature…
