Description back: finished Wolf-Suit:

The Project
My fiancΓ© and I are working on the project of making a wolf fullsuit. It should be wearable for days, to go on a Live Action Role Play (LARP). But we want to do it with different Addons, like stilts and when its possible Anmiatronics inside.

This is the eight step of a little photo-walkthrough making the mask for my manwolf.

Design & Claws & Tail
& & :thumb185573674:

paws
I started with a pair of shoes. IΒ΄m quite good in walking on high heels and use to wear shoes that high often at larp and in the nature. So IΒ΄m not afraid of the high heel and that helps to make the digigrad effekt in the padded legs.

I cuttet the toes and claws out of foam, glued them on the shoe, latexed, painted and isoflexed them like the gloves. Then I addeted fur too and trimmed it.

repairing
After wearing them in the woods the foam stripped of from the shoe, but was still in place, because the fur still hold on the shoe. I think IΒ΄ll let it like this and just add some leather which will hold the toes together. You can walk with them quite well and even run and they look surprisingly good. (In my opinon.)

So the suit is Kent for a girl? Because those boots are for girls, I guess.

Form me, yes. And IΒ΄m female. Right. I made the paws new again and changed some things. Currently I use a shoe with a high heel, but the heel is combined with the rest of the shoe, like a sport shoe with a high heel.

I made two wolfes. Together I needed 3 years for them. This one ist the prototype, it needed nearly two years, including tests and failures.

Thank you. Also, I have tried to make fur pants in the past and have had trouble. Did you add any stuffing in the legs, or bend your knees to help the effect?

If you ever do make a costume again in the future, I would love to see a pants tutorial.

Well I added patting. I took this tutorial as an inspiration. [link]
But I didnΒ΄t add foam-pattings. I pinned fabric on the legs of my dummy where I wanted to have the patting, sewed them and stuffed them with soft filling material.

IΒ΄m planning on a full tutorial "How a fursuit can be made with all different parts". But that will need time I currently donΒ΄t have.

I see you did mention under the repair how it held up, which is what I was mainly interested in. After the foam stripped from the shoe, was it any more difficult to walk in? Do you think you will use a different adhesive/form of attachment in the future? And how did the foam pieces that were exposed (claws and pads) hold up against wear?
Thank you in advance! I love the costume!

IΒ΄m going to see it next week, where the Drachenfest will be.
The most difficult part with seperated toe was the fear they might fall off. But none didnΒ΄t and I expect the leather to be good enough to hold them togehter.

I do that often, so for me, donΒ΄t. I took this shoes, because the felt comfortable testwearing them.

There are a lot organized games here in Germany. You can book them like a Weekend-Holiday and play there with all the people. The smaller ones have 10 to 30 participans, but there are althoug bigger conventions, like the Drachenfest with nearly 3000-5000 people.
