Description Design: Walkthroug:

The Project
My fiancé and I are working on the project of making a wolf fullsuit. It should be wearable for days, to go on a Live Action Role Play (LARP). But we want to do it with different Addons, like stilts and when its possible Anmiatronics inside.

This is the the part where I show how I made the tail in my little photo-walkthrough for my manwolf.

Materials
fake fur, hot glue, hose, metal screws with a hole at the and, string, wire, fleece

knitting the fur
At first I made a pattern out of paper and brought it on the fur. Be careful to watch the direction of the fur. I knittet them togehter, the left side out.
At first I made it 80cm long, but when it turned out to look to much like a fox I shortened it round about 15cm.

making the attachment
I took wire, swirled it and glued it into the hose. I knittet it to a piece of leather which was cuttet that you could put a belt throug it.
I made the littel screws in the hose and runned it in and bended it around the last one. It should help to bring it in form. I recognized the moving tails move more catlike, so I prefered an easier version without two moving strings.
With hot glue I glued one of the ring-screws in the end of the hose.

putting togehter and filling
I took the sack of fur and pulled it over the hose. Then I knitet the tip to the last screw. I filled it with fleece and knittet it to the leather.

colour
I´m going to give the tail some more gay colour. But it will be added when the rest of the suit is finished.

Google Mendels Faux Fur... Then you´ll find the shop. They have amazing things there.

With the tail, does the wire let you bend it and it stays in place?

No I should have made the end different. I saw some moving tails but they all looked Catlike, so I stopped this idear and removed the white band. The wire inside helps to keep it in place and to let it wag more real while moving.

I´m still a bit unshure. Maybe I just bend it anywhere in the back. I saw moving tails where strings went to the shoulders, but I don´t want to fix it that much that it might be complicate to put it on or off.

The tail will mostly stay white, but I´ll add different gray-tones at the upper side of the beginning. I plan to make th colourtheme of the thumbnail above.

I think the string is for making the tail wag or curl. If you notice, it continues from the tail over the shoulder, giving the wearer control of the movement of the tail.

I´m still a bit unshure where I gonna fix the string. I don´t want to hold it in my hand.

You are right. For real movement the tail need to be fixed between the legs too. I look forward to add the string to the cloth in a higher position that I could varify the form a bit.
