The character already r0xx0rz, and the way you drew her, it makes her look even more kickass. I know what I like the most in your arts: the colors! They're always so vivid, without looking fake or overly saturated.

They're tricky enough to get here tis a shame. I don't mind the odd shooter but I hate war-based ones and strategy games are just yuck unless it's Warcraft 3 or Dark Colony, they rocked.
I like Tekken's visual style, and I really like the unlocking idea, I always thought that was a nice way of doing things and a lot of other games have followed suit, but I find the fighting engine a little limited, it always seems like the harder you play it at, the more it matters less that you know how to control your character and more that you can react at the exact right second to get the moves in. If you're fighting somebody with good blocking they can just force you into a time out all the time which is kinda unrealistic, I mean, if you spent 40 seconds solid hitting somebody's arms in real life with drop kicks and uppercuts and swords and stuff, they'd actually eventually be unable to guard anymore cos their arms'd be screwed, in Tekken you can just block everything and win, which kinda sucks, it ought to at least have block damage like MK. It's a great game but it's too...I dunno, too much like anime fighting you know, 'Dragon power fist!' Ah, I have blocked the dragon power fist! I am all powerful because I am Jin...I think that's why I like Soul Calibur much more because it has certain moves that have to be avoided or countered instead of blocks, and they're not all special moves or throws either. Plus yeah, moving around the arena is SO much better in Soul Calibur, and the medieval setting is awesome!

I think that's the thing with it, I don't find it rewarding enough to want to master it. I feel satisfied when I've played a good game of SC but Tekken just kinda leaves me cold now And yeah the blocking system is DUMB, those Neutral or Away block games always really piss me off unless they set them up properly. Give me a button any day, BR has both which is quite cool. I mean, Tekken is REALLY sensitive on controls too, you have to do whole combos without a pause anywhere otherwise it screws you, and although you can Neutral block, it'll register the slightest movement so it's safer to pull away but that seems to be the only thing it DOESN'T register lol. The more I play it the more I feel like I'm playing fricking Guitar Hero than a fighting game. Also if you're gonna do the whole away block thing, at least make it like Street Fighter where you can just hold away instead of having to time it with people's moves, that's just ridiculous.
I'm aware there'll probably be Tekken heads at the door soon with torches if I don't stop blaspheming so I'll chill out now
Virtua Fighter 4 is pretty damn good if you can get hold of that, Tekken ripped VF off really badly but had better graphics so sold more copies Virtua Fighter's got similar gameplay but a much more fluid combo system that actually makes sense (you know, if you need to do a sweep there'll be a down and kick in there, none of this left arm right arm left leg right leg shite) and A BLOCK BUTTON but it is much harder to master because it has literally 100s of moves per character. The manual'd kill you if it fell out of a tree on your head

W00t, thanx for the advice! I see you've played a lot more fighting games than I have, LOL. In fact, MK was the only fighting game that I ever truly was interested in. If I don't like the character designs then I say no to the said game by start, this is how stuff works for me. This is why I absolutely loathe Street Fucker - I can't stand the characters. Virtua Fighter seems too "casual" to me, LOL. Yeah, I've read it was really hard to master.... I wish we could rent games here, because maybe I'd try that one out.

There are many words I could use to describe VF but casual ain't one of them...that game is hardcore complex. It's probably got more replay value from mastery of the game than any other fighter I've played. I managed to get to 1st Dan level on it and no further...2nd Dan is a nightmare...I never even got a ranking match for it...getting to 1st Dan was enough of a beast. The character design on it is kinda weird, it's certainly very down to earth, none of the characters are particularly outlandish, but they are very characterful and quite unique to the series. I really like Kage, Aoi and Sarah.
With the exception of Cammy and Sakura I really don't like the Street Fighter characters much. I grew up parallel with the whole 8 bit to 16 bit to 32 bit and onwards thing in gaming (we had our first computer when I was 3, which was an 8KB Commodore Vic 20. At the time that was tons of memory lol) so I can remember Street Fighter happening as I was growing up and have played it a lot, but I'm pretty tired of it now in truth, and Guilty Gear and King of Fighters are 1000 times better. And they have fantastic characters, not Ryu and bleedin' Ken. Why are so many people so emo for Ryu? All he does is chuck fireballs and look moody Mortal Kombat was always much more fun, but the PC versions were a bit crap, and when they came out our PC wasn't able to run them so we just had Street Fighter and Brutal Paws of Fury, oh and later MK3 once we updated a bit. I did eventually save up and buy a Sega Mega Drive when I was a LOT older (I think I bought mine when I was 19, 2nd hand and way after they were 'cool' lol) and got UMK, which is genius and still sees a fair bit of action now.
Video game rental is useful for trying out games for sure, where do you have to get games from? Do you have to get them online or are there some decent shops to grab them from? I have to say I wind up online for most of mine now anyway, UK shops are naff, just 4000 copies of Tomb Raider and FIFA

Oh, I meant "casual" as in the looks/clothes. I use this word all the time to describe things that don't look "fantasy" enough for me - so, obviously, Soul Calibur doesn't look "casual" at all We buy our games from online shops (from this country), and you're right, too many damn FIFA crap!
LOL, I remember we got our first PC in 1996, some old 286 or 386. MK1 was running slow on it! Then we upgraded to a 486 and even MK2 ran on it Then MK3 and MK4.... Trilogy I didn't like, and I only played a little UMK3 with the Mame emulator. I bought my PS2 in 2005, ONLY so I could play MK on it so this definitely says a lot about my love for the franchise And now we have 2 other fighting games which I happen to enjoy also.
Although I'm not playing them, I'm familiar with GG and KoF - my sister, the hardcore gamer (3d shooter/action/fighting games only, though) that she is, has to try everything out. GG characters are so damn detailed, most of them are refreshing designs. I think I like Baiken the most, she's one tough woman! Cheap sluts like Li Mei or Frost (LOL, I certainly don't like females with this name ), or those Dead or Alive walking silicone implants got nothing on her!

Oh I see what you mean lol. I initially really liked DOA but after 2 it got all about the boobies I really like a bit of both actually, I like kinda 'urban' (I hate that word, it's such a corporate buzzword! but you know what I mean) fight gear and I like fantasy stuff. You know, it sounds like you ought to try Wu Tang: Taste The Pain, it's probably very hard to get hold of now as it wasn't very popular, but it has very similar gameplay to MKD, and a cool mix of old-school kung-fu ninja stuff and new-school baggy jeans/hoody stuff. It has great weapons too, and I gotta add, the female characters are pretty well designed! None of this loincloth crap
Baiken is cool, I really like that all the characters, male or female, have sensible outfits but are still really cool looking in GG, it proves our point that there's more ways to make a cool female character than make her wear less than a stripper
