It wasn't a big surprise to Alden at all that, after that summer's event , he'd be entered in the next upcoming event with Fae. He was kind of expecting it at this point, and had been preparing for it all autumn .
Darcy gave him some advice for his performance at the Imperial Winter Dressage and then sent him, Pete and Charline on their merry way. Alden was happy to have his companions, on one side Pete for his experience in the field, the other is Charline knowing the region well, since she'd already traveled a couple times to RPS to show or drop off Lush. She knew the best roadside restaurants, snacks to try in Austria and the drinks to get! He thought it might also be a good time to quiz Pete on what Darcy told him in a call, back in The Netherlands, but opportunities never came. He did keep a sharp eye on the man.

Upon arrival, it had only been a delight to meet their hosts, enjoy the food at the tavern, and settling in Lush, Davide and Fae. The three horses were comfortable in their stalls and are being trained everyday during their stay, to keep them supple and ready for the show. The team had arrived a day early for this reason, and Alden was relieved at how well everything went.
The three had agreed that Charline would play groom of Fae and Davide, and Alden would help Charline groom Lush when she had to enter. Pete was in charge of paperwork and finding them snacks in between the chores.

The first day of the event came, the morning began pretty hectic for Charline, who had to groom two horses a bit early to make sure they'd be ready, Pete brought hot cocoa and the trio got out, put Alden in his saddle to rehearse moves whilst it was still possible. Early afternoon, Fae got a quick brush swipe, and they were ready to go. Of course, Pete took Davide with them on a lead, to let the stallion get as much movement as he could, whilst also letting him get a feel of the high energy buzz at the event.
Hitting Castle Wall, warming up his mare, Alden began to feel the nervosity slowly creep up on him, he looked at the other entrants that were there. They were quite early, entrants came and went and it would be a bit before it was their turn. "Get her to extend her trot a little" he hears Pete suggest as an exercise, before he turns in a small circle. Taking a deep breath, he felt his tensed muscles only loosen up centimeter by centimeter. They were prepared, this was fine. It'll be fine.
