I believe that Archie wanted to gradually lay hints of future Shadamy without actually DOING Shadamy, which would piss off Sega. But Sega themselves has said Sonic will never really settle down with Amy (or at least, not as the cocky, devil-may-care teenager he's portrayed as now), while Amy is clearly looking for stability in a relationship.

It's so weird, I mean they were asked a question about Silvaze, but instead they bring up Shadamy. Now I've kinda had this theory that Silver is descended from Shadow and Amy for the longest of times. So I guess to me, their saying Shadamy would have to happen first or something. Because Silver has to come from somewhere. XD
But that's okay, since the comics have shown they are all about Sonally, which I love, then it means I get two of my otp's - Sonally/Shadamy.

Well here's the thing.
Sonic X, the games and Sonic Boom pretty much conform SonAmy to be canon. HOWEVER, Archie is a different entity and thus is allowed to stray from the norm. Seeing as how Sonic is 9/10 going to end up with Sally. I think they were hinting at what fans have been theorizing for years. The theory that Silver is descended from Shadow and Amy. I mean it does kinda make sense. Since Archie has shown they have kinda kept up with the fandom, they must have heard this theory, looked into the possibilities and liked them.
Besides, don't you think it's weird that while the person was asking about Silvaze, they felt the need to bring up Shadamy instead? Isn't it kinda more or less saying Shadamy would have to happen first before Silvaze could happen?
But you know, I'm not trying to bash SonAmy, because I adore SonAmy, it's not my OTP, but it's high up there.

The theory about Silver being descended from Shadow and Amy is just because those writters speculated about Sonic being related to Dragonball Z one way or another and nothing more. He may be descended from them (eventhough I hardly doub that), still that doesn't means Amy ends up being with Shadow.
Also I don't see Amy dating with Shadow since she's never going to give up on Sonic (at least that's how the real Amy Rose would be).
And Silver being 200 years in the future later, Amy won't live that long.
However there is line that state Shadow and Amy aren't his parents:
When someone asked if Silver's parents are alive in the future the writter state:
"Off course not. It's the far future so, naturally, they aren't even born yet" (disproving Amy being the mother and Shadow being the father)
It's someone that ships shadamy and dislikes the idea of Silvaze. That writter is just a fan of Shadamy as all the others. Still I think SEGA will prevent them from writting anything between these too, just as they prevented Sonamy to happen after Sonic and Amy gotten on a date once.
Well I dislike Shadamy I'll admit that because I don't see them work out and Shadow is to much of a jerk to each and everyone. And since lately he calls Sonic's friends pathetic, which means he thinks Amy is pathetic too because she's also one of his Sonic's friends.
And Shadow has betrayed before. Just look and that one time he helped Blaze before he actually betrayed her by trying to steal her universes emerald. Also Shadow will become a dictator and will marry Sally. After that he'll be frozen away prevent concact with anyone.
I hope I don't come over insulting anyone, it's not my intention too.

I'll just say this, keep in mind the whole of Sonic is a multiverse. Including Sonic Boom. The "Main Timeline" Shadow doesn't call Sonic's friends pathetic. Not once. The "Boom Timeline" Shadow is a jerk. So thus, I would NEVER ship Boom!ShadowXBoom!Amy
Each game takes place in a different universe technically.

I dont want to start an argument but It has been stated many times by the writers themselves that Shadamy and Sonally are canon shippings for the comics. But Now a days Sega wont allow them to show 'rommance' in the comics anymore after the reboot.

I think they don't allow them writting romance for sale reasons.
Still if Shadamy happens in the comic's than that's sad because (in my opinion) Shadow is not good boyfriend material since he mostly thinks about himself only and he has betrayed a girl before (Blaze the cat. Sonic universe I think. Forgotten which issue).

What? Shadow is not a narcissist. Hes an asshole but hes not a narcissist. Actually Shadow has a week spot for women because he used to love one(Maria), Not romantically, Plantonically of course. He grew up with some manners for women and enjoys their company. And I know what issue your talking about, It was treasure team tango, and he didn't betray Blaze the cat, the entire time he knew that Blaze needed the sol emeralds but GUN was also riding up his ass because the General is an asshole who has all the power to turn against Shadow and then he would be fucked. But at the same time he did want to help her because he knew it was the right thing to do. And that's where Amy came in and the reason for her character. She gave him the little push he needed, because Shadow sometimes gets confused and unsure of what to do in certain situation regardless of how confident he seems to be. Sometimes even if you know the right thing you have to be told this is what you need to do in order to do it. Because sometimes people need the 'its okay' from some one as like-minded as him.
And eventually at the end of the issue Shadow decided to do what he thought was right and helped Blaze get the sol emerald. In the second issue her village was attacked and He helped her, apologized for being an ass, and Cleaned up the village after Metal Sonic attacked the village.
I dunno what you think good boyfriend Material is but Shadow seems like the type of guy i might get involved with. At lest he wouldn't run away from me because He's scared of getting hugged. Yes Sonamy is cute, But it would canonically never work. And even Shadamy but who knows.

Hmmmm to me he is because he's mostly talking about how great he is and how weak the others are (at least in the games he does), and (sometimes) get beaten by somebody.
Then it's no surprise woman have also a weak spot for him apparently, and yes he did betrayed her. It was Amy that gave back that sol emerald to Blaze so yeah Shadow hasn't set his betrayal right.
I don't know that General but that doesn't excuse Shadow his actions.
Also no he didn't: It was Amy Rose who convinced him to do the right thing, not himself. If it would be him he would have taken the sol emerald and probably never given it back if he'd succeeded.
In the next issue he did not helped Blaze with her city getting rebuild. He tried to "apologize" for his mistake and Blaze didn't accepted them, and she should since the way he apologized saying that he would fight her no matter what. I've never seen anyone apologize the way he did. He didn't even said a simple "i'm sorry" to her. So I completly understand Blaze not forgiving him, I wouldn't have done it neither.
Shadow got rid of Metal Sonic is Issue 1 (which Blaze thought he could be trusted). He betrayed her in Issue 22, so your point about that isn't correct about him helping her village after he tried to steal the sol emerald.
You say yourself he's an ***hole and yet you still would go with him? I really don't understand how girls think sometimes......
I think neither Shadow would like it if a girl would squish all the air out of his longs every moment he meets with her (that's the reason Sonic doesn't likes Amy's hugs).
Shadamy wouldn't canonally work either.
Amy still holds that crush on Sonic. That's something she'll never lose.
And Shadow works alone and doesn't need anyone.
But hey, i'm going to out of this. I don't want to get involed into a battle. I think this is getting the wrong way. I've been in such shipping war once, I don't want to be in one again.
