By far my favorite 'Pokedex Holder'. Mostly because after wanting to be Champion so badly, he then poofs for a few years and loses the title xD

In the past, upon returning home he'd challenge whoever was currently reigning for the title, until N also returned, and then proceeded to hold it, undefeated for almost three decades. He's competed in every World Tournament, ever since he missed the first one he'd technically qualified for.

But it's no big to Hilbert. He's an easygoing guy, and one of the strongest Trainers you'll ever meet. Everyone, from Shirona to Red can agree on that much. Though he's traveled the 'Japanese circuit', he didn't spend time challenging leagues or getting badges, as he considered himself a Champion already. He mostly spent his time chasing down and facing off against Japan's best Trainers, some of the strongest in the world thanks to their combinations of Z-Moves and Mega Evolving, and tracking them down took some time.

When the Dragon was yet split, he had the closest tie to Reshiram, a fact that often annoyed Nate, who considered the dragon his. At least until its ball was stolen.
