Description Whole drawing was done in paint tool SAI

Funny how I spent half a year looking for good cell-shade tutorial and in the end doing things my own way=.= Cell-shading requires beefy computer, especially when you have different characters drawn separately. Oh man... This is the process of my latest picture poki-art.deviantart.com/art/No… I learned a lot and I thought that I could share it.
This picture was drawn in paint tool sai + went to photoshop to draw the gradient and add texture at the ending steps, and sparkles in some shaded areas and hair highlight (forgot to add the commentary!)
For shading itself I used brush tool (not marker) set to hard edge and almost no blending. Market felt like having too sharp edges in my opinion and i didnt feel like having much control over it's acting.

Anyway, here it goes, I hope you like it. Im not any pro, and I just started, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Also please visit the version posted on my blog (it's better to see how things changed by clicking on the picture and then using arrows to change to next one)

there is one crucial thing that I didn't mention, but from my observation the lineart will always look worse than sketch (that's because if you're not conscious abou it, sketch lines have more varied weight than clean lineart, but it all depends on what you want to have as end result) and the lineart will always look better once you add colors! ^^

its not really a tutorial, but a step-by-step of what i've tried to do, and i hope that it will help you a bit and guide you on trying to do something in your own cell shade style!
