Wow that fur looks so real! I love the freckles too ^w^
The ooonly thing off (just to me and others who've owned rats) is the tail--Yes they've got lines across but it's not an indication of segments. It's hard to replicate the skin texture short of using some form of crosshatching lines. What else...(btw, I'm not picking on it, I'm just saying it if you didn't know)..Oh! they also [on the tail] have a peach fuzz-like fur on it as well. If I had to assume, nature made their tails as such since it drags on the floor often.

Gah, I know it has been a while since I really commented and Im sorry but I do look at everything though, heh XD and I sometimes leave them in my messages to comment on later... like this one in particular.
You've done a lot of neat traditional pics in the past few weeks and it is so awesome to see you do fullcoloured pics like this! the background looks amazing here and so does the random rat dude too 8D great fur shading as well, btw.
